I have the same error as in this thread: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1847517

game freezes on intro screen immediately following valve logo vid

R6025
-pure virtual function call
I already tried verifying the game integrity and even reinstalling. I use Win7 Ultimate.

The worst thing is, i don't even get a verification email from the steam forums so i can't even do a bug report or ask for help there.

Has anyone here had similar problems and was able to fix them yet?

We are testing an update that should fix several crashes that we are seeing.

No ETA as to when the update will go live.
Well, at least they acknowledged it now.

Well, that's entirely your fault though. If you saved any personal information you could try contacting steam support and proofing that you are you.

My partner had the issue - his windows partition was FAT32, but he converted it to NTFS, did a repair, then it worked fine after that.
Deffo seems to be a FAT32 issue lol. Not saying this is the only cause, but it definitely can cause it for some reason :/

I use ExFat since I'm already on windows 7, and i don't really want to downgrade to an inferior file-system just because of one game, even more so when many people report this still doesn't fix the problem.

Can you explain this to me? I am genuinely interested.

The advantages over previous File Allocation Table (FAT) file system versions include:

* Scalability to large disk sizes: 64 ZiB theoretical max, 512 TiB recommended max, raised from the 16 TiB limit of FAT32 partitions. Note that the built-in Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 can mount and support FAT32 volumes larger than 32 GB, but cannot create a FAT32 volume larger than 32 GB.
* Cluster size up to 32 MiB
* File size limit of 16 EiB (Limited by volume size), raised from close to 4 GiB in FAT32
* Free space allocation and delete performance improved due to introduction of a free space bitmap
* Support for access control lists (not supported in Windows Vista SP1)
* Support for TFAT, a transactional file system standard (optionally WinCE activated function)
* Provision for OEM-definable parameters to customize the file system for specific device characteristics
* Support for UTC timestamps (starting with Vista SP2)
* Timestamp granularity of 10 ms (better than previous FAT versions' 2 s, but worse than NTFS's 100 ns)

Nyah nyah nyah nyah

I'm getting the game for my birthday (2 weeks) but instead of waiting I pirated it :S (I WILL still buy the game) Ofcourse I pirated it 12 hours ago and have finished it already though :S

Now that you've paid for it.. and if you are going to pirate it yourself.. It's SKIDROWS 8-10mb CRACK and the 5-7 GB game...

Also... I won't get banned for admitting to pirating that will I? Cause.. if so...

GOTTA CATCH ME FIRST..

Oh wait.. the internet..
Please don't talk about that here, this is a gaming site intended for the honest. The moderators will come down on that as what you are doing is illegal.

On topic, I got mine on PS3, and my computer would fry it's CPU trying to load it. So no issues for me, yet.

Yes, but it is still illegal. You don't steal something on the premise that "I'm going to buy it anyway"

No issues here. I got it for PS3. My craptop can't run Portal 2 so I haven't bothered trying to download it from Steam with my free redeem code.

Never mind, found my copy in the top of my mothers wardrobe.. horrible hiding spot.. thought she was going to give me the money to buy it..

Well.. it turns out I downloaded a game I basically already own ;-;

I just got probation too @:
So, you've not only admitted to pirating on here, but you've also stolen a game from your parents that they were going to give you anyway if you'd have just waited

Well done
