Portal 2 : Time Travel!

Anyone who's played far or completed portal 2 (which is awesome by the way) has got to the time travel test! the one where you are warned not to look at your past or future self when you see him or will will destroy time!

Now I played it and after working out the puzzle (which iv forgotten now) I forgot to look for a time travelling me! I saw nothing!

I'v looked over the net for answers and well I don't think there is any! its just valve saying hey just in case we include time travel in a future game this is where it was mentioned!

I don't have a full understanding of Black Mesa and Aperture but they both experimented with portals and I'm guessing time travel as well?

any one want to chuck me some info . . .

As far as I could tell you don't see a future you in that test. I played through the game three times so far and I saw nothing like that. I think it was just a kind-of tongue-in-cheek kind of joke because back when Cave Johnson made that message they didn't know what the portals were capable of. That's what I think anyway, I'm probably wrong.

I think it's just meant to highlight they're at the forefront of theoretical physics and they aren't really sure what some of the things they've done are even capable of. I certainly saw no time travelling.

I did. In fact they pop up in a few places if you've got quick eyes. Same with Wheatly during the Glados testing phase.

It was just a joke. It just highlights the whole mad super science thing Aperture Science had going on. It's really quite interesting, makes you wonder how far ahead the Half-Life/Portal universe is in general. It's almost become Falloutish with it's retro sci-fi stuff.

The most interesting I heard though was the very first Cave Johnson message, which we can assume was recorded in the 1950's, that welcomes Astronauts to the enrichment centre. Astronauts? The space race didn't begin to around 1960, let alone the moon landing.

That combined with the ending makes me think Portal 3 will be set on a Aperture Science Lunar Base. Just a thought.

I loved every part of this game! but there is so much down there that is confusing! if you try to gather up the facts and fit them together its just a mess! there are some parts that would never fit but he does make a big deal about: TIME TRAVEL! Seeing other orange jump suits and there are many many posters about the co-workers being robots!

I heard someone saying this else where do you have any more info any quotes as proof ??

I think it was because you portal out of a chamber and it's just an auto response from Cave about the time travel for another group of testers.

"Scientists tell me that that could wipe out time."

I haven't finished the game yet, so I'm not really reading through the answers, but if I'm not mistaken, he said that in an automated message right as you entered where the time travel test was SUPPOSED to be.

The sign that talks about the time travel test is on a door that is boarded up, so I'm thinking it was condemned early-on. You never actually see it (that is unless you do later on, but I haven't gotten there yet).
