I'm not all that excited about it really.

The tonne of new mechanics could possibly clutter up the smooth gameplay, and there seems to be more of a focus on platforming, which always sucks in first person.

I hope they don't try to hard to be funny or rely on Glados memes.

I see what you mean. I haven't got anything wrong with them pushing back the dead lines. There games come in quality not quantatiy. It is annoying to working up the suspense to a certain date only to learn that it will be at a later one. Still this means that Portal 2 will only be better when we get it then if we got it this year.

I love wheatley, I hope they keep the actor for his voice, he seems like a lot of fun
No! No! Bad! He sounds so ridiculously English that I feel like smacking Mr. Newell every time he speaks.

Fortunately for me, that was just a placeholder actor for the E3 demo.

I can understand english folk not wanting a horribly english sounding fellow, I think he's awesome, and because he is just a floating eye he needs to be cute or else people won't want to relate to him

if he sounds unlike a silly computer then people won't want to carry him about, his banter there was witty and funny and his pitch and accent just sold it for me

I hope it remains similar for the final game

I enjoyed portal but i'm not excited to play the next.
For me, it was a good game because it was clever. The use of portals was a cool technology. The puzzles where easy and the game short, so they can only improve on that.

Certainly looks more interesting than the first.

I wasn't exactly impressed with Portal. Sure, they used the idea of portals and made a good game about it, but to me, it isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread. It just seemed so dull and uninteresting, and I found no joy in doing any of the puzzles, and I, who has to ability to laugh at just about anything, found no humor at all in any of the dialogue. But hey, that's just my opinion.

Now there's new character(s) with different personalities, puzzle rooms that actually look interesting, and hopefully a plot that I won't be able to see coming.

I'll be OK with it if they just make him sound less like an idiot and get a better actor. Honestly, that "they said I was never, ever to disengage myself from this rail or I would die" part was awful and for a moment I though that Valve had sold out all of the values I held dear in it.

I think I like it so much beacuse it is so rediculous, just like glados all the AI in that facility is likely on the fritz and that's why they are so memorable, if he wasn't absolutely strange it just wouldn't be a portal game and he wouldn't be memorable and it wouldn't be interesting

I can't wait.

Looking forward to a longer more difficult campaign.

I loved Portal but it was a bit on the easy side (at least I thought so) and for something that was so much fun it was over way too soon.

I wonder if they will be adding difficulty levels (I don't think the first one had anything like that, though I'm not sure) because when you start combining all those new gameplay elements into larger chambers I'm sure there will be a lot of people who will have trouble seeing the solution.....

I know people who had trouble with the first one..... they still want to play Portal 2 though :)
So it might just be conciderate.

it looks like it should be fantastic and if Portal 1 is anything to go by it should be what everyone thinks it will be.

it is a valve game and they have a good idea of how to make a game shiney and fun

plus they actually make a deadline these days

I'm very excited to see what it will be
"i can hack it! aaaaaa-A, no. aaaaaa-C! no. did we try B yet? get a pen and paper write this down."

Ok, I have to admit I've already started calling Episode 3 "Gordon Freeman Forever", but Portal 2 seems a step in the right direction, at least.

It looks really nice, I'm not really the kind of person how comments on or cares about graphics. I also like the look of the new gameplay elements added in like those lasers and the suction pipes. Doubt I'll buy it though, it's not really my type of game.
