Portal was great. The 17 compulsory tutorial missions leading up to the actual game were not so great, but they were still pretty good especially for a little experimental game included as a bonus.
Umm the best puzzle game so far imo? Far too many that are better than any games mentioned so far (seriously, indie games kick ass) to list, but I would have to say the best one I ever payed was Time Slip developed on the PS1 indie dev kit Net Yaroze. Picture P.B. Winterbottom type gameplay but much better, with the player as a snail and every time the clock hits a minute time repeats and you have to avoid hitting a previous self. Very challenging and incredibly good fun.
Thoughts on The Ball? Yeah I saw it, it looks interesting. I plan to wait a bit to see how it turns out though. It might be a brilliant idea let down by poor implementation.
TETRIS!? Seriously? THAT's a better puzzle game than Portal? But it's so damn simple, it involves no lateral thought and no outside-the-box thinking ever. It's not exactly challenging either. Okay I'm good now, it's out of the system. I guess I kinda miss playing it on my TV with the remote control...WOPR said:...they ask me to name a better action/puzzle game I name a few (Tetris...)
