I agree with REDPILL. Talk all you want about how console vs. PC isn't any different anymore but when it comes down to it, the game experience on a proper PC vs. a console is always noticeably better on a PC. And of course I'm discounting all the things console fanboys gripe PC fanboys about. Operation systems, installation, upgrading and all that. I've played Orange Box on my home-brew PC, my 360, and my PS3. It is an undoubtedly better experience on my PC. I don't have the slowdown and sloppy aiming of the consoles in HL2: Ep2, I don't have a loading screen that lasts for 40 seconds every two levels in Portal, and TF2 doesn't lag at all compared to the 360 and PS3 versions (And it's freeeeeee). Did I mention that PC users will be getting the new maps and class updates for TF2 before the console users? CoD:4 has been the ONLY game I've played on all three systems that seems to be a pefect fit in all three cases (besides the downgraded textures and resolution options in the console versions) so big ups to the Ward for making that happen. As it stands Portal is a GREAT game and I bought Orange box after all the talking up from everyone and their gran because I was (as usual) waiting for the price to go down before I bought it seeing as how I already own HL2 and HL2:Ep1. It wasn't as great as all the exploding orgasms over everyones pants said it was but then again I'm fairly hard to please. While I think that the portal gun itself is the single greatest invention in all of vidoegame history, I'm fairly certian that the game itself could have been MUCH more challening. It's basically the same puzzle set that you got back when you first picked up the gravity gun except now it manipulating space-time. What I really enjoyed about Portal was the quirky things you could do that WEREN'T part of the puzzles like transporting a sentry into a group of other sentries and watch it destroy them as it flails around. Or use portals to transport myself across the room by falling from ceiling to floor in a cascade pattern as I shoot portals ahead of me. If you have an X-Box360 and haven't played this game yet, the you need to rent it just for the Portal achievements which, while they sometimes can be a pain to unlock, add more gameplay time than it actually takes to beat the game. The "Terminal Velocity" achievement (in which you fire a portal in the floor and one in the ceiling above it, then jump in and walk away for about a minute) represents how cool and fun the gameplay could have been if it hadn't been totally concerned with getting from point A to point B. As it is the game flows well and has great dialog and decent puzzles but it's just not a perfect game like everyone keeps screaming about. As a side note I'd like to say that I did love it but thought it didn't reach it's full potential. The encounter with GLaDOS in the HalfLife series may well destroy our chance of ever getting to play another Portal game. In closing, Portal feels like an extremely fun tech demo, but suspiciously so. I'll be that those who are convinced that the portal gun will show up in HL2:Ep3 aren't far off the mark.
Edit to REDPILL: But the way, Counterstrike was originally a PC game as well but you may not have been counting that as it is a MOD. Also, Half Life 2 was also released for the original X-Box (although about a year after release for PC)
