After you scroll down past the poems you'll notice his so called 'portraits' that are obviously just photo's with photoshop filters over them. As a real portrait artist myself, it really annoys me.

Well maybe hes a media artist? I dont really know what else to add to this.
No, they were photoshop filters. You can press a wee button that applies crosshatching which is an automatic filter. I've created a few digital paintings in the past (I dont do them now, people dont really appreciate them as much as traditional media), they dont just apply filters to pictures.

He's an art thief too, he posts a few pictures in traditional media and they obviously aren't done by him.

This is a pretty random thread but yeah its so fecking obvious its just celebrity pics with filters applied.

Can't believe people on that site think he actually drew them.

I find it strange that at first he talks about materials and techniques he uses to make them, and later on he says this:

I feel I must explain the way these drawings are done , I am not a real artist I cannot draw things from my imagination, I am what has been called a copy artist , all my images come from photo's videos or any image I want to copy, my only skill is in shading and dimension, I can only claim that my drawings are my interpretation of other peoples work

Further down he claims this is a painting:

And he says, and I quote "eyes are getting better brian , thanx for asking here is a drawing of my chinese g/f that I will meet for the first time soon , when I am there I will sit her down and do a real good one."

He obviously didn't draw those pictures - just ignore people like that - I'm just amazed nobody on the site called him out on it.

Unbelievably that charade has been running for nearly 3 years..many of the later posts are obviously just photographs yet people treat them as though they were hand-drawn...

Yeah, he's just saying that he can't draw from his imagination. I can't really draw from my imagination, but provided with a photo, I can draw, and I don't use a grid or trace. He's trying to say that he is not a real artist as he always uses reference, bollocks. If you want to get a proportionate looking person, you use reference, even Da-Vinci probably used reference. I doubt that people don't consider him a proper artist for that.

Are the photoshopped portraits supposed to show them as average joes, or are they meant for artistic showmanship?

Granted, it's poor art, but it's art nonetheless.

maybe you misread it. He says all his images come from photos and videos and that his only skill is in shading and dimension. Im pretty sure hes talking about photoshopping techniques there. So hes basically saying: I take a picture and I shop it.

No he's talking about shading in the traditional medium, there is no technique to what he's doing in photoshop.

Here's a tutorial on how to create images like that: http://www.bestechvideos.com/2008/11/14/techtutor-tv-apply-a-filter-in-photoshop-cs3

That's all he's doing, he's either applying the crosshatch filter, or the charcoal filter.
