My Mum isn't alive these days but when she was around she used to worry about all types of shit obsessively so I wouldn't show her a ton of stuff just because I knew that if I did, she'd worry. Not because I was "ashamed" or anything, I'm ashamed of nothing I own, if I was ashamed of it I wouldn't have it. And yes I do have an extensive porn collection and that's far from the most embarrassing thing in my place of residence.
