I honestly don't think it's Half-Life episode 3. At all. But it sure would be nice, wouldn't it?
Why do people bother commenting on something which has no solid evidence either way...

Nice to know I'm not the only one who thought this, I was wondering if it was the Borealis but there;s one thing that makes me a bit skeptical, where's all the ice, i thought the bot was near the Arctic circle....
Yeah, last time I checked, Valve does not the idea of boats in fiction. I don't see how this is related to Half Life in any way.

Meh, its called "concept art" for a reason. The idea of what the Borealis is and where it is more importantly are still being "conceived". But ya, its probably just a pipe dream for Half Life fanboys. Anarchemitis has dug up a new idea for HL3 though, the possibility that the character may not be Gordon is another possibility as well. Just thought I would throw in my two cents.
Doesn't make sense, wrong setting, and they've already released pictures of the Borealis (which people have already posted). Bear in mind, you could even have a picture of a ship frozen in ice, and it might just be a sequel to Cryostasis instead of Episode 3.

It's not really in valve's style to announce something in game informer. They usually leave incredibly cryptic riddles for the community to figure out.

I've never played a Half Life game in my life, and I just know my HL shit from hearing other fans. So I'm just gonna guess that it's another ship similar to that Borealis one in the ice.
GI has been making a shit-ton of amazing cover stories, lately, and if they're really making a big deal of this one by showing us a preview, you know it's gonna be something big, and you know that HL3/HL2:E3 is a big deal, so you connect the dots and BINGO.
