Don't know if this has been done already, if so, I apologize. The title pretty much says it all. Who would you like to see direct Episode VII in 2015?

I've heard rumors of both Matthew Vaughn and Neil Blomkamp being approached, and even some weird ones like Darren Aranofsky showing interest in the franchise. I didn't get a chance to see X-Men First Class, but I didn't see Kick Ass and wasn't too impressed with it. Though I think I had more of a problem with the comic itself than Vaughn as a filmmaker - either way - I'm unsure about him. As for Blomkamp, I LOVED District 9, but seeing as that's been his only film so far, it's difficult to say how he would handle the franchise. I'll wait for Elysium before I decide on that.

Personally, I think Duncan Jones made a great character-driven sci-fi drama with Moon and would like to see what else he can do. Danny Boyle might also work well, he's got a lot of diversity when it comes to filmmaking and Sunshine wasn't too bad. Brad Bird did an excellent job with The Incredibles and his Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, successfully revamping two things we've already seen too much: superhero flicks and over-the-top action movies. Rian Johnson has also done some great work, particularly with Looper and seeing Star Wars take a noir approach would certainly be interesting. I'd be okay with any of these directors.

Oh and I know you're all thinking it so I'm just gonna say it: No. Joss Whedon would not be perfect for Star Wars, nor should he be allowed anywhere near the franchise. He can have Marvel, fine, I'll put up with that.

Basically, I just want to see Star Wars mature. I want a fresh take on it, something that delves deeper into the philosophies that made the series great in the first place. It should still be fun to watch, sure, but it needs to evolve into something more than JUST that. Give me a director who can do that and I'll be a happy camper.

Anyway. Thoughts? Suggestions? Let us know what you think.

Danny Cannon as the director and Rob Schneider as the lead character and comedic relief.

Also I'm expecting to be trolled just as much as in the prequel trilogy.

Whether or not he is the best man for the job, I would not be surprised to see the job go to Joss Whedon. You cannot deny the success of the Avengers, and the big-wigs may just look at the prospect of even more money. Plus, he managed to make it without causing major fan rebellion.

Its funny, I was thinking the same thing, that everyone will jump to Joss Whedon for this. I love his style, but I don't think it suits Star Wars. Though William124 is right, the dollar signs from the Avengers might make the decision for them....

I think Matthew Vaughn might be a decent choice, he's a little hit or miss for me, but I like him better in the role than Blomkamp or Aranofsky(especially Aranofsky, a little too out there for Star Wars). Vaughn I think could do a good job, and he isn't afraid to have simpler, almost thematic based characters, which is one of the formulas that made the original star wars great.

Now we just need them to not butcher the script...

Darren Aronofsky isn't exactly a shocking possibility considering he almost helmed the new Wolverine flick.

My pick would be to go off the board and give the job to David Slade. Mostly just because I want him to get more work. >_>

The only person I want to direct the new movies is DAVID Cronenberg He almost helmed Return of the Jedi but he wasn't able to use the cinematographer from Empire Strikes Back so he declined. He said that is the only movie in the whole franchise that is nice to look at.
Also his alien creatures would be insane and everything would look like it was an orgy of organs and technology.
