Modest heavy entry from The Netherlands: Textures. Enjoy.

And if i'd be from the UK, Porcupine tree. Best band in the world, period.

Britain beat you to it. American Metal is the best I've ever heard though.

I'm not Canadian but I wish I was so I'll say Billy Talent.
You are not the only one. For U.S. I'd have to say Mötley Crüe, Sixx A.M., Beastie Boys, Run DMC, and MC Frontalot. Wish I could say FLOW but they are japanese.

Dream Theater and Lamb of God would be my two choices, I think. Though James LaBrie of DT is Canadian... but the core, original members are American, so yeah.

I'm from America, so I would say Cake, Dropkick Murphys (from Boston) and Jonathan Coulton. Very strange combo, but good.

But my family is Irish, so if that counts, Thin Lizzy, the Pouges, and (of course) U2.

Don't really like portuguese music at all, so i'm going with the lesser evil and say Moonspell since it's the only one that doesnt make me want to /slit. (Well, they are actually quite good):
