If you like Kaizers Orchestra, then you should look at Skambankt too. If you haven't already, another great band from Norway. From Norway myself and I can mention loads of great bands from my country, including Dimmu Borgir, Zeromancer, Kaizers Orchestra, Skambankt, and Animal Alpha. That's just a few, for those that like rock atleast.

I'ts amazing how much the music in different countries can differ from each other, even if it's within the same genre.
I'm from Norway, I like to check out new music, and I would love to see (or hear) some bands from other parts of the world.
Also, if they sing in their native language, that's just great. ;)

I'll start it off with one of my favorite norwegian bands:

Kaizers Orchestra, a band which many people consider to be one of the best live bands in Norway.

Apologies if this topic has been done before, but I couldn't find anything like it when I searched.

Edit: Fixed the tags.

If it's only a band then I can't find any good bands because they all suck here in Iceland.

If a singer is allowed then my favourite Icelandic singer is Björk (if you've heard of her).

I'm actually addicted to them, and I hate the fact that they sold out for Death Magnetic.

EDIT: And anyone who knows metal should know this song.

I love The Decemberists and The Eagles!

If I was English, I would say Pink Floyd. If I was Canadian, I would say the Bare Naked Ladies.

System of a Down
Not American.They're Armenian.
Technically, they're classified as "Armenian-American rock" and they're from Glendale, California.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_of_a_Down

I'd call that pretty damn American.

Well, being from Canada, I'd have to go with either Rush or Metric - however, I was born in the United States, so a shout out to one of my favourite contemporary groups, The Flaming Lips.

The Living End
Grinspoon
Silverchair (old school)

There are others, but my brain doesn't work so well after work.

I like very little Dutch stuff, but I don't mind listening to Doe Maar (ska-band with reggea and punk influences):

I like the Golden Earring better though:

I'm stuck with a few options so I'll just put them all as a giant tie!

1: Dr. Steel
2: Tom Waits
3: Aphex Twin (although to be fair scientists aren't really sure where he's from)
4: DethKlok
