No, but I do kinda think that people with Morpheus and Neo badges are good people. 1000 and 5000 posts without a single warning if I understand correctly. It means those guys/girls respect other members and don't troll and post unnecessary topics.
I'll just correct you a little bit here. A "Warning", does not count as moderator wrath, and someone who receives a warning can still acquire any of the Matrix badges. It's only when a probation, suspension or banning takes place that those badges become unavailable.

For the record, I haven't received any negative feedback from moderators. :p)
Great. Because I'm aiming for that Neo badge. Thy will be mine some day.

I would say people give respect to people with big post counts because they've been around the forum and the Escapist community longer.

Respect your elders, or in this case those with a bigger post count ;)

Ah shoot, I was gunning for Morpheus but it appears I shall be denied such booty!

Nope, I've never judged any one by post count and no one else should either. I judge by quality of posts.

The post count is just a number, it has no meaning to anything in the world. It's just an indicator of the fun I've had in Forum Games and Groups. Anyone who has said to me "I respect you because of your post count", although it has happened only twice thank God, has been told it doesn't mean a thing and that if they do want to respect me, they should do so only for my posts which are, at times, either short, on the borderline of low content or stupidly silly, as I'm in Forum Games pretty much 90% of the time I here.

After a while of lurking I've noticed that people with higher post counts seem to hold higher respect and authority (as well as popularity) than those with lower post counts. Eg: Some guy with 10 posts a news story, is ignored or is questioned for validity of article. Another guy with 5000+ count, posts the same story, and is unquestioned on the validity of the article and gets some posts in his/her topic.

So anyway, have you ever judged someone/their post on their post count?
This isn't true. I have a lot of posts and no-one really gives a crap about what I say.

Well, I tend to trust people who post a lot because I know them better, but just because someone's post count is lower, it doesn't mean that their opinion is invalid. High-post count users generally know the deal better, they don't get told to cite sources because usually they already have. They might have been sort of annoying newbies that got probations all the time in the past (Furburt), but if they've survived this long it shows that they've settled into respectable posters.

Well it takes a while for someone to become a trusted member of the community - they first have to prove that they aren't a troll. This is probably the reason those with lower post counts get questioned more.

And being seen to post a lot tends to make people more popular amongst other posters, as they interact with them more (though this can also lead to "followings", which isn't good at all - let's not forget Max's army of fans).

However I like to think I respect all posters equally, regardless of post count, as long as they deserve it. For example, I'd call out a big poster on something just as soon as I would a newer poster.
