Damn do I know that feeling. But I got that feeling after the ending to Dawson's Creek. The ending was very depressing and made me want more.Aby_Z said:Anime Withdrawal : When you catch up with a series, but it's not finished yet, so in its' incompleteness nothing else can satisfy you.
I still don't know why, but I was completely broken as a person at the end of kingdom hearts 2..like I couldn't talk to people for weeks.Drakmeire said:I just finished watching the anime Elfen Lied and I was left with a feeling I have experienced many times. Post Series Depression, Post Series Depression (PSD) is the feeling I tend to get after I have finished a series. Even if it had a great ending and wrapped up everything nicely I still have a strange emptiness left over from the realization that I have taken in all this series has to offer and I have lost the surprise and anticipation I get by watching an episode I haven't seen. This even extends to video games after I have beaten them and unlocked everything. But not so much with movies because watching those with friends feels like a new experience every time in my case.
The series that gave me the worst PSD would have to be.
Elfen Lied (as I had mentioned above)
Lost (mostly due to the crappy ending)
Gantz
The Harry Potter Books
Hellsing
Okami (due to the "Point-Of-No-Return)
The World Ends With You, Castlevania-Dawn of sorrow and order of Ecclesia, and Kingdom Hearts II (I completed them all 100%)
what shows, games, books, or even movies gave you Post Series Depression?
well in the case of scrubs it came back, became a sad shallow zombie of it's former self and then got quickly canceled... what a sad end for a truly great show. just ignore the 9th season and you can be happy.no oneder said:I only remember two, The Sopranos and Scrubs. I actually cried with one of those.
how do you think I feel? My avatar is Demyx, I built a replica of his sitar out of polystyrene and am going to dress as him for a bunch of anime conventions... I NEED HELP!Hisshiss said:I still don't know why, but I was completely broken as a person at the end of kingdom hearts 2..like I couldn't talk to people for weeks.
I don't watch much anime anymore, but something like that happened to me with 8-Bit Theater if that counts... a new comic 3 times a week was awesome, but I checked that site all the time, just hoping for little bits of information about it.Aby_Z said:Post Series Depression, neh? No, I don't think I get that, I get something I call:

You too? Yeah, I do that as well, where, if a series hasn't ended yet, I find myself just perpetually watching the content this is available.Aby_Z said:Anime Withdrawal
You, Sir, have just cast me unto the throes of passion!..Now that I've sufficiently alienated everyone reading this, I'll mention just how much I cannot believe I didn't mention this myself. That show deserved so much better. What in the hell is happening to the world when intuitive, witty, and genuinely entertaining shows are canceled after 3 short seasons? They had an episode where a boy with a jetpack fights his uncle, who is wearing a giant mole costume. His uncle for Tyr's sake!!oscihedgehog said:Arrested Development.
When that ended, a little part of me died.
That is all.
Same, but Nickelodeon is supposed to be releasing a new series that is supposedly going to be a continuation of the Avatar universe sometime soon. There is hope!PhoenixKing said:First time I got this was from Avatar: The Last Airbender. It was such a good show. Why'd it have to end? I've also experienced this with The Wire, Digimon Tamers, and Scrubs. My god they're all such good shows. =(
