glass is a liquid. if you look closely at a window that's extremely old, you'll see that it's thinner at the top and thicker at the bottom. also, low grade glass is ever so slightly porous.

and, every window cleaner is a little bit eccentric, especially those that do high rises.
Good sir that is just not true glass is not a liquid back when the old glass was made they couldn't make it evenly and so they put the thicker side down so it doesn't just fall out.
On topic: 80% of all pictures on the internet are of naked women
Technically both and neither of you are correct. But glass is technically a liquid and only remains flat now because of a better process of creation of glass. Glass was never made thicker side down though.

Edit - Should have read thread before posting to this. Someone already psted this on page 2
http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=fact-fiction-glass-liquid&ref=digg.com
Explains it better than I ever could.

George Washington was the only US president in history to, during their term, ride out in full military uniform at the head of an army into anticipated action. This also makes Washington the only truly badass president in history. July 1794 - The Whiskey Rebellion

"The Irish Car Bomb" drink was first created in america.
The ingredients consist of a half shot Irish whiskey ,a half shot of Irish cream [usually baileys] and half pint of Irish stout
Continuing the "Irish Car Bomb" trivia, if it's not drank quickly enough it curdles in the glass. Also, most pubs in Ireland will refuse to sell it.

You have an awesome avatar.
Why, thank you. Was it, by any chance, Justin Bieber? If it was, that wasn't me, that was the Escapist being a dick because I pushed a red button...
Or was it my normal one?
Guessing it is the normal one..... Art is Resistance

Learned this the other day, pickles are only put on a McDonalds burger for tax reasons, to stop it from being legally classed as a dessert. There's a suprising amount of sugar in those things.

Your a new person every 7 years. The cells in your body die and are replaced the one that takes the longest is seven years.

(At least I think it's 7).
Someone's probably already corrected you, but the cells in nerve endings never duplicate or get replaced, which is what causes permanent paralysis. Bones, however, do take around 7 years to become fully replaced (I believe). Also I'm pretty sure brain cells WILL duplicate and get replaced to a certain point

Another useless trivia fact: ^That girl licking her elbow is really cute.
Somebody said Brain but to be honest I can't be bothered editing my post to post a more correct fact.

I read that when I was about 10 and it stuck with me and was the first thing that came to mind when asked for a useless fact this time.

I will post one here though, there are far more than 3 states of matter ... there are 19 last time I took a peek.

Crab sticks do not actually contain any crab
That is generally true and the most common imposter is pollock. The very same fish you find in a McDonald's fish sandwich.

As my chemistry teacher used to say, if you get thrown through a bar window, you'll probably argue that glass is a solid.

The most goals ever scored by one person during a FIFA world cup is 13 by Just Fontaine in 1958

The most in one world cup game by one player is five by Oleg Salenko in 1994 against Cameroon

Only two nations have ever defended their world cup title: Italy in 1938 and Brazil in 1962

Only two people have won the world cup as both a player and a manager: Mario Zagallo, who won as a player in 1958 and 1962 then in 1970 as a manager, and Franz Beckenbauer, who won in 1974 as a player and 1990 as a manager.
