ATI Radeon HD 3400
Intel Core Duo CPU @ 2.26 GHz.
3.00 GB Ram.
750 GB Hard Drive.

... nothing special, but I can run most modern games.

My laptop, however, is a brick. It chugs running HL2.

Geforce 8800 GTS
Intel Core Duo T5400 1.66 Hz
3 GB RAM

It was awesome for a laptop (Yes, I have a laptop) when I bought it a year ago (And cheap!), now it's just....average.
I hate you, I would pay quite a lot for a laptop that was good for gaming.

They are actually quite cheap still (It's a Gateway btw). If you live in the US you should be able to buy them. Although I, living in Europe, bought mine on Ebay from some shop in Arizona (cost me about half the price of the laptop to get it shipped here, and was still cheaper and better than what I could buy in my own country)

She's a real beast you know what I'm saying? Just earlier I was playing Crysis, everything maxed out to the highest setting on this baby.
