OH HOW EVER WILL WE GE THROUGH THIS MASTER LOCKED DOOR!!!!! D:

BAHAHAHAHAAHA! Yes, gotta love being blocked by cheap little wooden doors in Fallout 3/New Vegas. eff that I have a freaking plasma rifle. Melt that sob. Or I could, just you know.. Push it slightly with my hand seeing as it's half off it's hinges.

One of the worst offenders is Dragon Age 2. There are cave entrances and stuff that will for no apparent reason have a wagon cart placed in front of it so you can't go in. I mean it has freaking wheels and isn't that big. So lazy.

To wit, the worst offender is Dirge of Cerberus.
The man who can leap 300+ feet into the air to take down attack helicopters FROM ABOVE is utterly incapable of jumping over a 5 foot park bench.

What makes this even worse are the DOZENS and DOZENS of 7ft tall "laser fences" that seem to pop up everywhere.

I wish there wasn't a low-content rule, because that picture is enough to send anyone who knows what it is into uncontrollable PTSD.

Basically, you have to jump up and down 6 screens of pure spiked hell to get over that.

I know that's not entirely what the OP was looking for, but it certainly was my favorite.
Do you know, after about 2 hours of attempts I never managed to get over the top part? It was the one trinket I could never get. The only other game to make me rage like that was super meat boy, which is very similar in a number of ways.
OT: Pokemon has a ton of those. I remember in Ruby there were a bunch of team magma grunts in slateport blocking off the north route who wouldn't tell you what you had to do, and a bunch more blocking the entrance to the museum. You had to do a bunch of stuff in a very particular order, and not all of it obvious.

I'm surprised someone actually remembers Dirge of Cerberus. I have to agree with you on this one, mainly because it was so annoying when there was no building or anything in your way, but nope it's an invisible wall blocking the path! >.<

I love Dirge of Cerberus. I still replay it all the time. Usually nowadays I pop in my Action Replay disc first to really tweak with the game and run through purely for enjoyment

You earn points from me, as I usually get a lot of flack because I actually quite liked Dirge of Cerberus. I've not played it in a while, but that's because I've been busy.

it's been years but i actually liked that game.... >_< but i think i do remember that being an annoyance

OT: as of recent i've played the first mass effect, and in mass effect you have the mako, fucking land rover extraordinaire, that can climb mountains and hills like a fucking boss...until you get to story missions, then you are stuck on this linear ass path and can't simple say "fuck this shit" and make your own damn path.

Aah, the classic! I forgot about that pic. It actually inspired me to reinstall FO:NV - and, because I'm addicted to mods I spent last night trawling and installing mods via the Nexus site. Oddly enough, I came across "Project Nevada" - which has aaaaall kinds of modifications and tweaks (that can be enabled individually) such as customisable health scaling (PC and NPC), ammunition scarcity, a sprint function(!) and, most relevent to this thread, what they call "explosive entry" which allows one to blast locks open! I suspect I shall enjoy testing this out. As soon as I've paid a visit to the powder gangers that is.
