Which games are you seeing that use more than 2GB of VRAM?

Or have you been reading this off the evga forums?

You should read this.

I haven't seen anything personally (I only have 1.25GB, which I can hit pretty easy on demanding games). The demanding games I've seen are Metro and BF3 with BF3 using over 2.5GB of VRAM on one video. One thing I have noticed is that the drivers seem tuned to try and use only as much as the system has but it can be pushed past it. BFBC2 @ 2560x1600, everything maxed looks like a PowerPoint on my card.

This sums up my feeling nicely "You've either got enough memory or you don't, and once you don't, things degrade pretty fast. There's a very fine line between butter-smooth and nearly unplayable. " I know that I will be sticking with a 4GB for my next purchase. I would be curious to know what your experience is running 1.5GB cards.

I'll be sure to let you know once it's all set up.
That'd be great. When are you expecting them?

My cozy little corner . . .

There are actually two computers here.

My gaming rig is to the right of the picture. It is connected to the big monitor, and the keyboard and mouse on the pullout tray.

The computer you can just see under the desk is connected to the small monitor, the small keyboard, and mouse to the right.
I have that computer so I can use the net and game at the same time (without Alt-Tabbing).
I was wondering for a moment why you had an extra keyboard and mouse. :p

I like your flashdrives (I assume that's what those are) all in a line by the way.

Monitors on Tuesday, PC in about 2 weeks. We're renovating right now, otherwise trust me, there'd be photos.

That headset...are those Turtle Beach PX21s? I've got a pair, and they're nice. Shame that they have an absurdly high failure rate, though; I've gone through 2 pairs in the last year.

I'd post mine, but my PC isn't currently functioning, so I don't have it hooked up. Here's a run down though:
22" Samsung LED monitor.
Logitech Z523 2.1 Sound System (Turtlebeach X12 headphones when it's too late or early).
Dell Mouse.
Dell Keyboard (German layout).

PC specs:
Processor: Intel i7 2600.
16 GB RAM.
GFX Card: 2GB ATI Raedon 6950.

If this thread's still strong when I get my PC repaired, I'll edit this with a pic.

I keep them there so I can find them easily. If I put them anywhere else I always end up losing them.
You could try doing what I do and keep them in the lid of one of these. Works great.

I'd take a picture, but there's a 32 inch screen in front of it and no real angle I can get a good pic of it. Not like there's much to look at, it's an old grey HP case.

Processor: Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz @3.00GHz (Yeeeeaahh overclock!)
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Graphics: Radeon 4870 512MB
Mobo: Some cheapo Gigabyte thing

Windows Experience Index:
Processor - 7.3
RAM - 7.3
Windows Graphics - 7.4
Gaming graphics - 7.4
Hard Drive - 5.4 :(

I need to get a new case at some point to keep my computer running a little cooler, since currently I'm having to leave the side case off and have extra power cables dangling over the side which can't be good, and once that's done I'll be saving up for an SSD of some kind.

I've been putting it together over the last couple weeks, trying to get a cheap, but still powerful computer together. Went for a Q6600 since I remember hearing good things regarding overclock potential, got the 8GB RAM to keep programs running smooth (And hot damn is it a boost from the 2GB I had before), and the graphics card is over two years old, yet I've not had a game I can't get looking damn amazing. Any Valve game runs at a flawless 100 FPS even on the more intensive levels, MW3 and Bad Company 2 run perfectly fine on highest settings, Tribes: Ascend is perfect on highest settings... I can't try Battlefield 3 because I refuse to get Origin for it, but that would probably test it. I also need to try Metro 2033 and Crysis at some point, see how it fairs against those.
