I'd take a picture, but there's a 32 inch screen in front of it and no real angle I can get a good pic of it. Not like there's much to look at, it's an old grey HP case.

Processor: Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz @3.00GHz (Yeeeeaahh overclock!)
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Graphics: Radeon 4870 512MB
Mobo: Some cheapo Gigabyte thing

Windows Experience Index:
Processor - 7.3
RAM - 7.3
Windows Graphics - 7.4
Gaming graphics - 7.4
Hard Drive - 5.4 :(

I need to get a new case at some point to keep my computer running a little cooler, since currently I'm having to leave the side case off and have extra power cables dangling over the side which can't be good, and once that's done I'll be saving up for an SSD of some kind.

I've been putting it together over the last couple weeks, trying to get a cheap, but still powerful computer together. Went for a Q6600 since I remember hearing good things regarding overclock potential, got the 8GB RAM to keep programs running smooth (And hot damn is it a boost from the 2GB I had before), and the graphics card is over two years old, yet I've not had a game I can't get looking damn amazing. Any Valve game runs at a flawless 100 FPS even on the more intensive levels, MW3 and Bad Company 2 run perfectly fine on highest settings, Tribes: Ascend is perfect on highest settings... I can't try Battlefield 3 because I refuse to get Origin for it, but that would probably test it. I also need to try Metro 2033 and Crysis at some point, see how it fairs against those.
Not a bad setup. I'd be happy to lend my expertise with cases and SSDs if you'd like. (I build tons of computers at work/for myself/out of boredom/etc.) Also are you running a decent heatsink on your processor?

So much mess! Random spoon that I honestly can't remember using!
As for my PC specs:
AMD Phenom II X6 1100t@3.3Ghz
8gb ram
GTX 560 ti SLI
1tb hard drive
It's not uber powerful, but I can play everything on highest settings except for stuff like Crysis and Metro with 8xAA.
I'm using a simple keyboard and a Trust GXT 32 mouse, best mouse I could find for less than 30 quid.
That big black slab infront is my graphics tablet, the Wacom Bamboo Pen tablet.

Oh, you just reminded me I need a new CPU heatsink too :p I've just got some generic Intel one, and it isn't one that came with the processor, I had it lying around from a Pentium D a loooong time ago (2005 maybe?)

I'm thinking of getting one of those close-loop water cooling things though. Corsair H60 I think the one I was looking at is called? Maybe the H80 if I can afford it, since that's the one I hear great reviews of all the time.

For a case, I'm only looking for spacious, lots of fans, but don't mind too much about anything else.

And SSDs I know little about, but Custom PC magazine has me covered in the most recent issue, with a loooooad of reviews of SSDs and which ones run the best. I've also seen one I think I want, with read/write speeds of something like 550/510MBps, or so it claims. I don't know the actual name or make of it off the top of my head xD

I would post a picture, but I am kind of ashamed at the amount of rubbish on my desk.

I have a Desktop Pc, and a laptop on my desk.

Desktop:
AMD A8-3820
Radeon 6690D2
4 GB Ram
Dell 19" Monitor and Dell Speakers
TtEsports Challenger Ultimate Keyboard
Razer Naga
Razer Nostromo

Laptop:
Intel 1.6Ghz dual core
2 GB Ram
Radeon 2400HD

Laptop is Mainly used for looking up guides while I am in a game, or just chatting to people in game, or multitasking.

The closed loop liquid coolers are amazing. I run one in both my main computer (pictured) and one in my server. If you install some new fans on top you get crazy stupid cooling with little noise. I'm partial to the Antec 920 myself. I've got two of them and one 620 and the 920s are cool because you can see the liquid temp and you can manually adjust all the ramp up speed and fan RPM stuff yourself. I don't know if the Corsairs are the same. If you get a 920 install some Cooler Master R4s on it and it will stay quiet all the time. Also you could move it to the ODD bays like I did. I saw my processor temp drop 6C under load.

So I have it mounted with zip ties in the optical drive bays and I installed a fan in the back to help suck air out.

As for cases what are you looking for? Flashy with a lot of lights? Generic with no lights? Price?

SSDs are neat but they are hit or miss. I would avoid OCZ if I were you, my buddy has had to send his in 3 times I think. I've got a Crucial M4 (love that thing) a Sandisk Ultra and an Intel 320. They all seem pretty solid but the M4 is the fastest. From what I've seen it is usually also the best rated.

Oh, the jellies... [sub][sub][sub]and hard-on! =P /jk[/sub][/sub][/sub]

OT: No pic at hand, because my room's a fucking mess.

However, my rig is gettin' on now, five years old as she is... *sniff* but still going strong, has no trouble playing all the current gen titles, so got a few years left. So, uhm, 2.5GHz intel2QC + 4GB RAM, Rad4850 (yes, shit, I know, but it works fine... still... hopefully), LG (1680x1050) from my old PC, Dell (1920x1080) and probably the shitest speakers available ('cos headphones).

How does that setup perform with games? I've been considering one of the APUs for a HTPC setup running with a 6670 like your setup but I need to be able to play games at 1080p.

Well I've been running most-all games on high settings at 1440x900 (size of the screen I have at the moment).

I have heard people say that they can run at 1080p no problem on medium settings for most games.

Well, for example I have noticed no problems with Mass Effect 3 on full settings at 1440x900.

It is a good setup, but it really depends on whether you want to run games at their highest settings, or you are alright with low-medium settings on high resolution.

Edit: Forgot to quote who that was too lol.

Supersnip to the rescue!
I just got a case, one of those cheapy iCase turbine front things from Maplin. It's hardly the prettiest, most feature filled, toughest case around, but it'll do the job better than the old HP case I've been using. Hell, it came with three fans, which is two more than I was expecting xD

It's even got the space for the H40 cooler radiator (plus I'm pretty much totally budget for this PC, so the Antec 920 you recommended is a no no at about £80 xD The H40 is half that, and still does very decent cooling from what I hear). Maybe I'll get a H60 if I have enough, since I've heard it's still much more superior to the H40. Shame I can't get a H80 or H100 though, those are apparently absolute beasts. Then again, I'm running a 775 Core 2 Quad, not a new LGA2011 chip or something that beasty xD

If price is an issue and you are only looking at the lower end water loops I would just go with a nice air cooler. I've heard great things about the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus (http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=6603). It even uses the same fans that I'm running on my Kuhler 920s. Newegg (don't know any UK retailers, sorry :p) has it listed for $26 right now.

The problem with the lower end liquid cooling is that they really don't do a lot and the larger kits only do a lot if you are running a stupid high overclock (My i7 can run at 60C @ 5Ghz on my Kuhler 920) so if you want to save some cash and get the same or better performance then stick with the air cooler. I know that for my next HTPC build I'll be picking up a 212+

Hmm, I may post a picture later, but my desk is a slight mess now. Easter eggs everywhere...

But my specs are:

Case
- Novatech gaming case (Nice, big and black)

Motherboard
- Gigabyte Z68X-UD3P-B3

CPU
- Intel i7 2600k

RAM
- 8GB Corsair Vengeance

HDD
- 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm

ODD
- Pioneer Blu-Ray RW

PSU
- 750W Novatech gaming

GPU
- 2GB AMD 6950 (Unlocked to 6970 shader count)

Screen
- IIyama ProLite E2473HDS LED 24" screen.

All together the computer cost me £800, including the screen and a few things chucked in (wireless card, memory stick). That was after a LOT of bartering.

Edit:

Also, just managed to order an Arctic i30 CPU cooler for £29 on eBay, silly stock cooler!

Not seen one of these for a while.

Hopefully getting my new PC next week :D may edit this and post it when I get it.

There's a PS3 to the left of the Xbox but I couldn't fit it in. And taking this just made me realise how much this particular area needs a dusting.

EDIT: Whoa, they came out much bigger than I thought they would.
