I have windows 7 and and I understand it's supposed to work, but there is an problem which... well I don't really understand why it happen and I can't find any other help on it. Now I know this site is full of them smart people so you might be able to help, right?

Well, the prolem is after I've installed it it says, "Application installed successfulyl. Reboot the computer to complete the installation. Continue?", now I did that, many times, and it just keeps wanting me to reboot my computer, what gives? What should I do? Anyone who can help, I'll promise to give you 100.000 ? (if I get rich) as a reward :)

Please help O_O!

I think we need to know some details first, mainly how you're trying to install it. Is it from a disc? The internet? A torrent (this one's illegal by the way)?

Same thing happened to me, I never got around to fixing it but it's something to do with one of the applications(something to with security, possibly) being incompatible with W7 :/

Portal 2?
Portal 2 isn't out yet, there isn't even a demo.

Begs the question where did you get 'Portal 2' from?
PS, Portal 1 doesn't require a reboot to install.

PoStal not PoRtal! Patch it or check if you are missing some windows programs the game requires.

The only part of that install that would require a reboot is the DirectX install. Which you wouldn't be able to complete because the version of DX Postal 2 uses (I'm guessing 8, maybe 9) is lower than what comes with Win7 by default (10).

It is possible that, because it cannot complete the DX install, the installer assumes you did and prompts for a reboot.

I would suggest simply ignoring the prompt and trying to run the game regardless. If it doesn't work, perhaps try running in compatibility mode, possibly with admin rights (You'll get a UAC prompt every time you launch the game if you do that last bit). Win7, by default, doesn't like reading and writing to the program files directory which may cause problems when trying to save.

If you downloaded the game from GoG, I'd suggest their forums for help as the game ought to work.

Postal 2 ain't compatible with Windows 7, it's a pretty old game. May have not installed correctly.

AFAIK it's an Unreal Engine 1 game. Try installing/updating DirectX 9 [http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en] before running the installer again.

Thank god I thought I was alone reading it as Portal 2. Thought it was a thread that would be why Portal 2 will fail.
