I've been thinking lately - there are a lot of posts I've been meaning to make for some time, but never have for one reason or another.

One is a rather long dissertation on women, sexuality and entertainment, that even though I've started several times, I've gotten distracted or bored and never finished. I don't like the idea of further eroding my position with women either.

The other is a seething, verbal assault on the PC gaming community that began shortly after the Ubisoft DRM conflict began. While I can often get the anger up high enough to start about typing it out, the level of rage required to accurately portray the point is hard to keep up, and I lose interest soon after. Also, I don't need any more people trying to assassinate me.

So Escapists, what are some posts/thoughts that haven't been able to find a way out into the net, even though they should've by now.

Remember to use your brains before posting people.

There have been a few. It recently came to my attention for example that Bobby Kotic is raked fourth among software companies for his (personal) compensation compared to the performance the company has seen under his tenure. In fact, if someone want's to make a post, they can find this factoid on forbes. [http://www.forbes.com/lists/2009/12/best-boss-09_Robert-A-Kotick_QWW9.html]

I've been meaning to start threads on incantations in fiction, and how they seem to usually be invocations for the intercession of higher powers, and on MMO economic protectionism, or how it's possible to become self-sustaining in crafting and economic respects through use of alts (most notably WoW).

I keep forgetting about them.

I've had a lot of ideas for threads that I've been to lazy to flesh out.

One of them is a humorous one about sex. The other about racist sandwiches. And lastly, a thread about how the imps in a south park episode look incredibly like Yahtzees.

I tend not to make threads, because the only ones I've made, despite them containing what I thought were very good topics, were barely responded to. I've been crushed.

I once thought of posting my current Pokemon team in Pearl, and asking for suggestions to improve it to beat Victory Road, the Elite Four and the Champion. But I decided against it; I can beat the E5 without outside help. The team of at least nine is progressing well, everyone's getting close to level 40, except my Riolu, who's at level 22 thanks to the Exp Share.

There are posts that on this forum have been made so that they never happened.
Which is why I am friends with users named Fish Food Carl, Taxi Driver and IvoryAgent.

The mods have a dark side.

For some reason I second guess myself when it comes to posting anything, and so I have vast amounts of comments ranging from insightful to concise and idiotic that I've never posted.

I think up a half-decent thread (in my mind, at least) about once every two weeks. Problem is, I'm usually in bed, out drinking, or otherwise unable to access a computer - by the time I do log on, I've forgotten all about it.

Only one has seen the light of day, and that lasted about 9 posts.

Too many to count.

By the time I've spewed out my invective into the text box, I've calmed down a bit. I then re-read my post, enjoy the satisfaction of having written it, then I take an objective eye to it and think about whether I'm saying something worth hearing.

If not, I just delete it all. I've already enjoyed writing it, I don't need to dump it on other people if I don't think it's worth reading. Having the time to insert a buffer between thought and communication is one of my favorite characteristics about the internet, it's a shame it doesn't get used more often.

Had plenty of ideas. Just that they got a life-span of a day. So if I don't make them quick and decisive, they'll never be made.

Such as this one. I believe... Uhh...

Well, I had a few ideas for threads... but I don't make threads... I made three, and I doubt I will make any more...
Other than that, maybe a quarter of all posts I write for the forums, I don't post.
If I find anything about it that... is not very... 'good', I scrap the post and leave the thread.
Although I may write some short stories and post them... that may be fun, if I can ever get motivated enough...

There are plenty of posts I haven't made because I didn't want to risk losing out on my Neo badge. For instance, I thought about not posting this one due to the fact that it implies that I'm gonna start posting not-so-great comments once I get said badge.

I sometimes start typing out a long post and lose track of my own argument halfway through, at which point I either delete everything and write a shorter version or just lose interest and not post anything at all.

I'd been meaning do post more reviews, and even nearly finished one for Nuts and Bolts, but I never got around to finishing it...and there hasn't been anything I felt like reviewing since.

As for posts I've been meaning to do, I was going to do a review on AvP saying how much it sucks, then a review on GoW 3 saying how it didn't live up to my own hype-o-meter, and and finally I would review Coca-Cola.

As for posts I've done but regret... Too many to count

We can start with the sexual harassment.

I've often decided to make threads - spur of the moment - and then just decided not to post them.
I still haven't gotten round to doing any of the reviews I've been tempted to compile, most notably.

Another one I've been wanting to do is post my concept for a game I've been thinking about for a long time. But knowing the nature of the internet, and my lacking any ability to ever make the game, I know 6 years from now I'll find out someone took my idea from here and made it, and I'll be SOL because I won't be able to prove its mine.

Well, Ive posted a few things in the past, and then edited them to avoid moderation, usually what happens is i post, then read is back and think "maybe i should change that".

A couple of times ive just started writing and then thought "Lets not post...".

Or ive started writing thread topics with the intention of epic debate, only to say both sides of the arguement in my OP & cancelling out the debate, Causing a thread bomb.
