Announcement just came out! Pottermore is... 'an online reading experience unlike anything other'. A place for sharing and participating in Potter stories, as well as additional stories, and an exclusive place for finding audiobooks and e-books.

Apparently a lucky few can enter early by 'following the owl'.

To me as well, although the big JK herself labelled it as 'safe' and for 'all ages'. Doubt it'll stop some strange stories cropping up though!

Even after watching the video and going to the site I'm not quite sure what exactly this is.

Also, if you wait on the video for some time after it stops a shadow of an owl will fly over the screen but I couldn't "follow" it.

Even if this isn't intended for fan fiction it'll be overrun by it soon enough. Man there are some weird fan fictions out there including some I wish I hadn't read (damn my curiosity!)

Completely and utterly disappointed.

Edit: Just watched the video. And I'm just more disappointed. The money ran out finally, so instead of giving us another book like we've been begging her to do for years, she sets up a website to charge people for ebooks of the ones we already read years ago?

Fuck this.

From what I read in an article, it sound like a sort of game, where you move through the world of the books (but not in the traditional sense of a game). It will be limited to the world of the first book at first, and slowly progress onto others.

I agree. There's always a call for more, but there's often outrage when they get it.

Best that people ask why it stopped than why it didn't.
