"Power and Grace" Abound in New Game of Thrones Trailer

Not much gets the excitement ramping up more than Peter Dinklage and a tiny dragon.

HBO has a done really good job of making sure I resubscribe on April 1st. I know it's a lot of money, and my baby probably needs formula more than I need to watch the machinations of the Lannisters and Baratheons in Westeros, but I just can't resist. So much happens in A Clash of Kings - the second book by George R. R. Martin which season two follows - that will put the first season of Game of Thrones to shame. From Tyrion entering the intrigue of King's Landing, to Jon Snow's adventures in the North to Dany's growth as a leader of men, this new trailer for season two shows just how awesome it will be.

There are so many great moments in that 1 minute 47 seconds I can't even list them all. Tyrion holding up the wildfire. The wailing and gnashing of Cersei. Renly and Stannis staring each other down. Bran on Hodor's back. The stark truth of life beyond the Wall. Varys the Spider looking over it all. So excited.

As a journalist, I'm supposed to have some kind of objectivity or something, but I don't give Hot Pie about that. I freaking love this series and I can barely wait until the first episode of season two debuts on April 1st.

Who's with me?

I expected the Wildfire jars to be bigger. And Stannis to be fatter.

I don't know how I'm complaining it still looks friggin' awesome.

I expected him to have a beard,
*le sigh*
You can't win 'em all.
He suppose to be fat, mostly bald, and bearded, but not as fat as Robert was.

I'm totally looking forward to Jaqen H'ghar

I'm rather looking forward to seeing this next part of this most glorious of series. But, like all others, i will wait patiently because i know one very simple thing:

April is coming.

He always asked the same questions, but he changed the tickling every day.

Clash of Kings is probably my favorite book in the series.

Stannis not supposed to be fat or bearded. I think some people just skim over the descriptions of how the characters look and imagine something else. He is balding, lean, and described as always having a blue-ish five o' clock shadow. Not a beard.

Have been saving a 3 month trial for HBO for exactly this occasion.

So excited. Strangely, most of my excitement is to see how the makeup department handles
Tyrion's little mishap towards the end.

A Storm of Swords is mine. DAT ENDING
;_;

The internet will erupt into a firey blaze that day. A shit storm so great, that no server, no mod, or no god will be able to stem the flame of the Showfan's rage...

It will be...glorious.

(Great trailer btw, can't wait. I think Stannis is miscast though.)

Hopefully it'll come across better when I see more than one line, but I really expected a more imposing Stannis. In that clip he just seems too ordinary. More of a middle manager than a hard as nails lord who opposed for kingship because most people fear he'd be too tough to live under.

Sex-Winter! Winter is coming. Sorry, this series is half a porno at times. Gets awkward to show to roommates and such. Reaaaaaaaaaalllly looking forwarded to all the convoluted intricacies. Delicious...

John Malkovich maybe? But then again he did get cast as Galbatorix in that atrocity of an adaptation. So maybe too many bad memories to drag up there. We'll just have to see if Mr. Dillane can act the part.

The casting of the first series was spot-on. I fully expect the second to be the same. Even when they got it wrong, it was perfect. Martin goes on at great length how ugly and deformed Tyrion is, which doesn't describe Peter Dinklage at all, but I can't imagine anyone doing a better job of playing Tyrion. I'm sure it's just that one line that made the trailer not showing off the Stannis character.

You're right. They haven't led us astray thus far. My only complaint is that it was too short ;)
