Nathaniel ignoring the guy working at the desk, walks around the aisles of the comic store. Finally coming up to one that caught his eye. He picks up a the "Deadpool Corps", staring at the cover. "....dog?"

"Interesting." smiling a bit as if he was actually interested in the comic. Turning to see the scene happening over with one guy and the worker at the front. Pausing and listening as they were talking. "Monsters?" he said quietly in reponse to their conversastion. So I'm not the only one who ran into something... he throws around in his head, wonder if he should say anything about his experience with what happend at the park.

Shruging and quiety waiting behind the two as they head their conversation. Then again, I really don't wanna get into this...

Taking a deep breath, Alex began to explain his angle on the tale. "Well, I was on break near Hermann when I saw what looked like red lightning streaking across the sky. I wasn't the first to respond to it, though. Someone else did, rather worriedly so."

"I followed that person to the believed location, then all of a sudden, four of those..." Alex stalled for a second, wondering if he should even say what those things were. He then decided not too, just in case this guy was playing a role and yanking his chain. If he truly was whom he said however, he knew how to confirm it.

"Things. It worries me to think what they may be, but they spawned from one bolt right in front of us. The two of us managed to fight off those four ourselves, but then more spawned in. Twelve of them." Sighing once, he continued. "I honestly don't know where they came from, but we did fend them off with some pistols before the guy I helped encouraged me to part ways with him. For my safety, he said. Still, I wonder if more people around town have been abducted by these things."

Atop one of the tallest of the buildings at the hospital location, Marik starred down at all the humans below, his body hunched down like a gargoyle. It had been nearly half an hour since he had arrived, and there was still no sign of any of the rangers.

Had the rangers fooled him and Wrack? Made that announcement to throw them off? Clenching one clawed fist, if that was true, then he was just watching a pointless spot while they made another move.

Lynne and Greg were the first to arrive at the hospital. Greg turned his head and scanned the horizon, "Huh, looks like we're the first ones here." He brought out his morpher, "We're at the Children's Hospital, radio in when you've arrived and we'll meet up with you."

Hayate had been walking for some time, how long he lost track of as he seemed to have arrived at the place where it was giving him the worst amount of the feeling he had from his sixth sense, a hospital. Behind his sunglasses he glared towards the top of the building, almost as if he knew something was up there.

...I guess I really will need Arataka for this...

Since his sunglasses were hiding this as well as the sun providing most of the light to help hid the reaction in his eyes. His dark blue eyes were glowing strongly in a light blue light. He closed his eyes for a moment to take a breath and try to control it if he could. The glow dimmed but until this source was stopped it would be like this.

This hospital...it will be a battleground...I better prepare...it's been some time since the last time...

He noticed two people looking rather suspicious as he turned around acting as if he had gone in the wrong direction. Though he noticed one of them was carrying an air that was much different than a normal person.

"...So even they're here...whether they prove useful or a liability...we'll see..."

He went off to a nearby building as he entered it and went to the topmost floor via the elevator. As he hit it, he would just head to the roof and wait there. The distance was fine and it would hide what he was about to do. He took hold of the holder and took out a katana in a black scabbard and handle with a silver pommel. There was an insignia on it showing the name 'Rei Ken Arataka' in Japanese Kanji and Hiragana.

"Arataka...it's almost time for you to be unleashed again."

He held scabbard that held his katana in his left hand. His right hand moved to his pants pocket to grab a black coin. Then moving his right hand to shift his left sleeve up revealing a rather highly advanced looking watch. With swift motion he unlocked a slot that was hidden underneath.

"Chi no Shukufuku, waga seigi ni teki ga taeru koto ga nashi. Ten no Shukufuku, waga tsurugi ni aku ha taeru koto ga nashi."
(With Earth's Blessing, no enemy can withstand my justice. With Heaven's Blessing, no evil can withstand my blade.)

He shifted his arms quickly, his right hand swiftly inserted the black coin into the slot. It gave out a small beeping noise.

"Hibike! Tenkuu Kane!" (Resound! Heavenly Bell!)

His arms did another shift has his right hand was over his left arm.

"Tenchi Henshin." (Heaven-Earth Transformation.)

His right hand intantly want over to his watch and shut the slot closed as he yelled out.

"Raidenger, Set Up!"

In a rather somewhat bright light that surrounded his body and encased him in the suit he had not used in quite some time. The helmet came forth and formed around his head. The most notable thing of this suit was that even though it was black, the helmet had some kind of 'scar' over the left side leaving the visor untouched, or so it seemed. And the suit had a vest included in the outfit. His katana somewhat transformed into a somewhat larger version of it self, the scabbard decorated with the symbol that represent cherry blossoms.

As the transformation finished, he stood there on the roof and crossed his arms and waited. He would wait to see who would take the first strike. That would decide his actions, he would not be caught unprepared.

The following spoiler tags contain parts of each ranger's lead into the meet-up at the hospital.
Hearing that Mason was already there, David at first thought to encourage him to do the retrieval of the phone, but decided against it. Something about this was still eating at him, and he didn't want to take any chances until most everyone was there.

Wrack had been a very vengeful bastard in the two months leading up to his retreat to Houston, but just tossing out a ton of Wyrmlings in certain places wasn't a tactic of his. "Hopefully, everything goes smoothly." he thought as he left Hermann and entered the jungle of towers that made up the hospital.

The announcement of Mason already being at the location where Phil's phone had turned up made Cassidy sigh in relief. She had been worried ever since they had lost contact with him, both for personal reasons and those related to the team. If they were lucky though, the person with the phone would give them some more information about what had happened to him.

Standing up from the stone bench she was sitting on, she left the Rice University campus and boarded her motorcycle. Hoping her campus would remain Wyrmling free from this point on, she sped off in the direction of the hospital.

Leaving the strip center where the the Subway was, Nick heard someone shout his name. Looking over, it was Jason who was running up to him, nearly out of breath. "Looks like all of us had Wyrmlings to deal with." Nick said, his observation coming from a few slashes in Jason's blue T-shirt.

"They were going...after civilians. Typical." Jason replied, his sentences fractured from fatigue.

"I take it you heard someone found Phil's phone?"

"Yeah, but...I still think it's just a slip up, or that he's yanking our chains."

As the two began walking, Nick questioned him on that subject. "Why?"

"Well, he does have a tendency to pull a joke at the wrong time. He's no comedian."

"Still, that doesn't feel like what this is." Nick said. "We all went after the Wyrmlings in different places, and he knows Wrack's not a forgiving creature. Personally, this sounds like a stunt you would pull." Nick's words contained little ribbing for his comrade.

"Would being the key word, Nick. I'm not that big an ass."

"Maybe, but I haven't forgotten some of your stunts." Nick said, his serious attitude beginning to pass into aggressive.

"Killjoy." Jason said. The two shared one look at each other, then stopped talking for the remainder of the walk to the hospital.

Walking down the main street in front of the building, David noticed a sign pointing to the Emergency Room floor. He still had heard nothing from Mason up until this point, and didn't see Greg or Corrine anywhere around. His hands in his pockets, he followed the incline down to the halogen lit level.

He was stopped at the main airlock doors by a nurse in a set of green surgery scrubs, his facemask hanging off his neck. "Excuse me, sir. You can't come down here."

"I'm looking for a friend of mine." David replied. "He brought in an unconscious person about half an hour ago."

"Oh. You mean the guy in the white costume and cape?"

David swallowed a bit. Mason had likely flown the victim to the hospital. Still, it didn't seem to have caused much of a scene. "Yeah. It's a long story."

"I believe he's in the waiting room. Just go inside and take your second right. It's right there."

Meanwhile, Marik, from his vantage point, watched as three of the seven rangers arrived. His relief and pleasure was slowly coming back as he eyed them either looking around or going underground, likely looking for the fourth one.

"Wrack, four of the rangers are here." he mindspoke, gripping the red morpher even tighter.

"And the rest?"

"I don't see them, yet. They should be here soon, though."

"Once they find the person with the phone, get their attention. I don't care how. Once they're dealt with, I will assist you in getting the attention of the others."

"Gladly."

As the minutes ticked past, David and Mason sat without saying much, the both of them concerned about the civilian. Eventually, Cassidy joined them in the room, saying she had seen Jason and Nick a while back, heading their way. Brushing her long blond hair once, she decided to break the silence of the room. "Mason, how's the guy you brought?"

"The doctor said he'll be fine. Should be on his feet before tonight." Mason said, crossing his fingers on his legs. He paused for a second as if preparing to say a lot of what was on his mind, but he didn't. "It all happened so quickly though."

"Yeah, but so long as he's alright." David said. "I'm just glad we didn't have more harmed like he was."

Eventually, the doctor helping the victim came into the room and asked for Mason. David and Cassidy stood up with him as the doctor told them that the civilian, whom they found out was James, would be able to leave in a few hours time once he was awake. "Thank God." Mason said.

"Would you mind watching him until that time?"

Looking at his comrades, they nodded at him. "Sure. I can do that." Following the bed James was lying in, Mason, David and Cassidy separated.

Back outside and on the street, David and Cassidy were met by the other four rangers, Greg quickly asking whom they were looking for. "The woman should be around here somewhere." David said, taking off his jacket. In front of the main building seemed the most obvious spot to look, a thought confirmed by Jason.

It didn't take long for someone to begin calling out to them. Cassidy noticed the woman first, a seemingly 20-something woman in a suit. "Yeah. We're with him." Cassidy said as she approached.

Before the woman gave the phone up, she looked over to the street. "Mind if we talk out there? I'm...a bit skittish around hospitals."

"Yeah, sure." Cassidy said.

Seeing the rangers finally emerge, minus one of their group, Marik stood up. Gripping the morpher, his hands moved in small motions in front of him as he began to chant to himself, completing a teleport down a few stories to another building nearby. Now, he was directly above the group.

Crouching and gripping the side of the structure, his eyes never left the group that had caused him and his friend so much anguish over the last year. For a second, he thought to just kill the rangers, mop up the mess, and end this as quickly as he could. Yet, he still had an obligation to respect his friend's wishes. All he needed to do was get their attention, and this would work well enough.

As one of the rangers retrieved the phone, Marik made his move. Propelling his body forwards, he leapt over the side of the building, descending faster and faster with a loud snarl until he landed on his feet and tail just a few feet from the group and the woman, his body thumping against the concrete.

The woman retreated in fear, yelling even as she stumbled over a stone bench nearby to try and get away, and other shouts of "demon" and "monster" could be heard from others around them. With a smirk growing over his face, Marik looked directly into the eyes of the rangers, still snarling lightly as they held their hands near their morphers.

"You seem to be missing two of your members." Marik said, his voice condescending and thick with bile.

Corrine's apartment wasn't far from where she worked, so she was home in a few minutes. Putting aside her bag, she collapsed into a chair, mentally and physically exhausted from the day's events.

Considering everything she had been told, it was hard to believe it all wasn't her imagination running away with her like in the past. But then again... hadn't there been reports of things like this before? Monsters running loose, only to be stopped by people in costumes?

Trying to get her mind off things, Corrine went into her bedroom to get a book she had been reading the night before a large hard-back tome with the words "The Mythic Bestiary" imprinted on the cover in gold letters.

Idly flipping through the pages, she came across a section taling about the kitsune, a creature from Japan myths with magical abilities.

For some reason, she couldn't help but think of the pink ranger she had seen earier...

As the crowds near the building continued to scatter and retreat, David and Jason, who were at the rear of the group, reached for their morphers, trying not to look at each other and stay focused on Marik. Taking the devices in their hands, they pulled them up and freed them from the clips on their belts, ready to morph if things got out of hand.

"Try and fight us, and we'll beat you back." Greg said, pointing at Marik. "We've done so before."

Marik snarled again. "As opposed to the many times I stopped you myself, with or without with my personal vanguard. Don't fool yourselves, Rangers."

"We're not." Lynne said. "We will stop you, and Wrack, and anyone else, no matter what you throw at us." As she finished talking, she reached for her morpher, grabbing it and pulling it free of the clip.

Seeing the pink ranger grabbing her morpher, Marik reached out with his massive paw and snagged her arm, twisting it to make her drop the morpher and pushing her away from it, Nick catching her as she fell back. Her device bounced away from the group and into the street nearby as some of the others went on the attack in response. "Fine. Fight me. Then, we'll see what happens when I reveal where your leader has gone." Marik thought.

Sweeping his tail next to his legs, one of the Rangers tumbled onto the pavement as another landed a punch to his face with a rock solid fist. Marik shrugged the blow off with a shake of his head and grabbed the shirt of the ranger who struck him, tossing the human behind him with little effort.

Cassidy went for her morpher next, summoning the essence of her spirit into her left palm before Marik could redirect his attention towards the rest of them. David and Jason followed suit, their palms ablaze and their morphers ready.

Once again, the three were enveloped in the essences of their spirits, their suits revealed as they each solidified.

Hearing the summoning phrase, Marik quickly spoke up, after grabbing the two rangers he had stopped before. Them being so trigger happy and quick to morph in his presence was what he expected, but if this did turn into a full brawl, he would never get to see their anguish first hand. "I was planning to inform you a little about your leader, if you choose to stand down for a minute."

"What?" David said aloud, along with Cassidy. The others were similarly taken aback by the statement, but Greg and Nick kept struggling against Marik's grip anyway, trying to free themselves. The massive demon kept a tight grip and pressure against their backs, though, refusing to budge himself. "Where is he?"

"Stand down, and I'll inform you." Marik said again, eagerly awaiting their responses.

East Houston City Limits -

As Marik was giving his demands to the rangers, far off on the edge of the city, someone else was keeping watch and listening in as the events came to a head. The person stroked his short, brown beard throughout the event, his long trench-coat barely waving as he spun around and leaned on the counter he was using.

The atmosphere of the closed bookstore reminded him of the old days of sitting in libraries, researching lore of years gone by. Although comforting, as soon as the ultimatum to stand down came, he breathed a deep sigh and felt worried.

"This isn't good." The feminine voice came from another being nearby, a large ethereal phoenix that was listening to the event.

"If Philip's been caught, there's a lot they could demand to release him."

Floating over to her evoker, the pheonix continued. "What about his morpher?"

The man shook his head. "Marik has it. I can tell from that tone in his voice."

"Demons are sly liars when they wish to be, Vincent." said the pheonix.

"I know." Keeping his eyes on the ethereal sphere in his palm, the man hoped the rangers could get enough information for a rescue. A trade was out of the question, and from what he had heard before, he had a terrible worry that Wrack would try and harm more than just the rangers if he could do so.

Ethan walked into the hotel room, his buddies had woken up and wandered away, the room was strewn with their discarded clothes and a few bottles of beer and liquor. They were going to be hung over, and in all likelihood had gone to the continental breakfast. His idea was confirmed when he saw James walk in through the front door holding a bear claw and drinking out of a Styrofoam mug.

"The hell happened last night man, last thing I remember is some big hayseed coming after me."
"Don't worry about it James, I talked him out of kicking your ass."
"Well, thanks I guess I'll just ignore those bruises you've got... Hey you went out right, did you hear about these monster things people have been talking about?"
"Yeah... I heard some people talking about it, apparently they were street performers, not a huge deal."
"So what did you do out there?"
"oh, not too much, walked around for a bit, get the kinks out, ran into a girl, you know."
