Meh. Doesn't seem bad, doesn't seem good either. Skip to 2:12 to actually see any Power Rangers. Well, half a Power Ranger.

And...I don't have permission to view the trailer. Because of course I don't. :(

Dude! It's a teaser. Meaning a tease. Meaning "we ain't showing you the full tit. Just the cleavage."

Also, I like the tone but then I realise it's Lionsgate so cue the stereotypical teen drama of shit dad, love triangle romance, nerds being bullied, Asian kid the silent but talented one, adults playing teens and... am i missing anything?

Either way, GO PICTURE! I want to see a different version of these characters and I am personal done being serious about entertainment and that toxic fanboy mentality. Always lower your expectation before a movie because hype is dangerous. Just have fun, Para. FUN AND ENJOYMENT.

Ah, so permission has been granted. And...um...that was a trailer, I guess?

Personal gripe, but I've never been that fond of the 'civilian powers' that some rangers teams have had - I feel it works with some, but the Mighty Morphin Rangers didn't have them, so there's that. On the flipside, finding the power coins by accident, while cliche, does bypass Zordon's plan of "bring me five teenagers with attitude to defend the planet, that all happen to live in Angel Grove, and...no, I'm not going to recruit trained soldiers, what gave you that idea?" Also not sure about the tone. And I guess I would be remiss that if Billy makes the jump the first time, he did a better job than Neo.

And Jason and Kimberly are an item? So...does that mean if Tommy turns up in a sequel movie there'll be a love triangle? Dare I say...green with envy? Or will Jason go red with rage, as Kimberly turns pink with two boys having the 'power' for her?

Oh well, bad puns aside, guess I'll still give it the benefit of the doubt.

A full tit would be the Power Rangers in action. Cleavage would be the team assembled in their suits. A three second look at the Red Ranger getting jizzed on by alien nanotech? That's more like a close up of a bra clasp.

Did... Did you just come up with the synopsis for the Power Rangers porn parody? There better be a sequel to that.

I think the civilian powers might work in this case if the Rangers aren't martial artists.

Also, am I the only one who was suddenly reminded of Dino Thunder? The Rangers are a team of misfits instead of being friends from the beginning, they have powers in human form and hell the Blue Ranger is a black guy just like in DT. Even the way they got power coins seems similar to how Connor, Ethan, Kira and Trent found the dino gems.

I still think they should've made a satirical movie. This dark and serious crap just doesn't cut it for Power Rangers.

It's on Youtube now-

If it weren't for the last few second clip, I would had mistaken it for another superhero like film now that the movie industry are following suit thanks to Marvel (look up Guardians and Max Steel).

I mean seriously, where is Zondon or even Alpha or am I to believed they all figure it out on their own???

you know, I kind of figured they would have gone the route of that stupid power/rangers film, despite it being a satire of Hollywood taking stuff down that route, but I still held out the tiniest bit of hope that they might actually try and make a movie that held to the shows spirit somewhat. this trailer has just killed that tiny spark of hope.

I genuinely hope this movie fails so that people will stop thinking that this "super grim and gritty" route will make stuff better, which people should have learned after the failure of fant4stic.

Do you realise there is a difference between "dark and gritty" and "serious"? Because the former is currently being beaten into meaninglessness by anybody who sees work that isn't all as full of slapstick rainbows and childish joy as they personally expect. Dark and gritty is supposed to be referencing the true grimy underbelly of society and ugliness within people in unflinching detail of which even many adults prefer to ignore. Subjects that are often avoided. This teaser is nowhere near such themes. At best, it looks like a High school drama action with comedy elements. So it's slightly more serious than a Saturday morning cringe-fest, big whoop. That doesn't make it "dark and gritty." ...blimey, talk about melodramatic reactions.

Yeah, it's a similarity, but I think it's down to how Dino Thunder was taking reference from Mighty Morphin in the first place. The imitator is being imitated by the film that is based on the original.

Fantastic 4 is a flawed film, but its flaw primarily lies in its structure, how we've got a first act that takes up two thirds of the film, and a compressed second half that takes up the last third, and has to squeeze the two acts together.

Also, likewise, Power Rangers has done more serious seasons before, and it's usually the better for it (RPM, SPD, arguably In Space, etc.) The fake movie trailer that aired years back is an example of "dark and gritty." This is basically doing for Mighty Morphin what Dino Thunder did. Take the same concept, but add a more realistic angle (e.g. make the teens actually act like bickering teens, rather than goodie goodies).

Nothing in this trailer strikes me as grim and gritty. Yes, it's more serious than the original show but even PR could get serious at times in later seasons.

I haven't been a fan of Power Rangers since I was in Grade 6, over 20 years ago, but I do not like the tone. I suppose a reboot is entitled to do it's own thing, but I don't appreciate them taking a franchise that was previously campy and colourful and turning it dark and edgy. I HATE dark and edgy.

I think both of them have been cast already, so they are definitely in the movie.
