World of Warcraft - you set the standard for a MMORPG
Mario - your a great icon of video game culture and i applaud your success.
C&C: red alert 3 - ... at least you kept the live action cut scenes.

there are probably more but thats all i have off the top of my head.

Fallout 3 is very atmospheric. And I like how it handles environmental storytelling.

Also, goodie. I get captcha's now. "Check your work" Heh, kind of appropriate for a Bethesda game.

Bioshock, superb aesthetic, awesome nods to many schools of thought, from Rand to Nietzsche.
Great premise, great presentation... But the gameplay kinda bored me.

Prototype, amazing sense of freedom.

L.A Noire, made me feel like a real detective at least twice and looked amazing.

Dead Space 1&2, great design, great art direction.

Far Cry 2, really fun fire physics, very good immersion.

Just Cause 2, great feeling of freedom, stunning environments from the air.

Dante's Inferno... (headdesk) has... (headdesk) decent... (headdesk) combat... (headdesk) for a... (headdesk) DMC clone.
I mean, at least it wasn't like Van Helsing
(headdesk followed by the sound of wood breaking)
I just called a game worse than Dante's Inferno. I'm gonna go die now.

The motion Capture in L.A. Noire was very realistic! And the detective elements were interesting!

Sonic Unleashed had some very cool cinematics (such as the opening one)!

The Assassin's Creed games re-created their settings brilliantly!

Fable III had John Cleese in & alot of other great British actors I recognised!

GTA IV you could finally swim in the water!

Sonic Heroes is probably closer in formula to the Genesis Sonic games than any other 3D-world Sonic game has been.

Sonic CD's theme song is pretty awesome.

The intro screen for Secret of Mana is a beautiful lure.

Invisible War made Human Revolution feel a lot more gratifying.

The original Resident Evil had a really great Rifftrax. Then again, maybe that was the dub.

This is like gamer therapy, where we're being forced to sit down and talk about the positive aspects of the game that ill-treated us.

Anyway, my penny's worth:

The microwave corridor sequence in MGS4 was pretty damn intense...

Hearts of Iron III.

I dislike most strategy games to an emphatic degree, but the sheer depth and complexity of this game made me feel awed and overwhelmed. Really interesting, check it out.

The Mass Effect games have really nice animations for taking out guns and putting them away again.

Seriously, that's what struck me the most. A lot of games have really terrible animations for getting out weapons. Either the bloody things just appear from nowhere or the character manages some improbable angle with their arms. In Mass Effect, they look really reasonable.

I'm sure I'll think of something else later...

Call of Duty's local multiplayer is a lot of fun, and unlocking new guns and camouflage patterns makes me want to play more.
