That right there is a trap. You can only use the gold key once for a account, not per character, Per Account. Use it too soon, you get a decent weapon or two, but useless after a few levels. But once you open the chest, no more key, and if you start a new character, no chest. Best to wait until level 50, than get loot that doesnt become useless right off the bat.KingsGambit said:There's no telling if there will be a GOTY edition, nor whether it will include pre-order bonuses.
Borderlands 2 just came out, and although I didn't pre-order it I think the bonus(es) they offered were done perfectly. There was, IIRC, an in-game crate containing unique and scaled weapons that give a small edge to the player at whatever level they choose to open it, but doesn't last more than 3-4 levels on average. This could never be unbalancing as the entire game is about constantly finding new and better loot, meaning their shelf life was limited.
All the DX:HR pre-order content is available on Steam. It's the "Explosive Mission" and "Tactical Enhancement" pack, if I remember correctly.bl4ckh4wk64 said:Didn't they do that when Human Revolutions came out though? I pre-ordered on Steam only to find out that if I wanted the silenced sniper I had to go somewhere else, and if I wanted the grenade launcher I'd have to go somewhere completely different. They should eventually be buyable on Steam as DLC I think. That's not saying it's a good idea as it might piss off a whole lot of the fan base, but at least it'll give us the whole of the pre-order benefits...
Well, we've known about the "girlfriend class" for months prior to the game's release. It doesn't take the same amount of work as an entirely new set of missions (which require voice acting/level design/etc). I'm sure that Gearbox was working on this concurrently, but I give them the benefit of the doubt because:KingsGambit said:Further, they offer the download of an entirely new, fifth class WHEN it's been developed. Meaning that it was NOT developed alongside the main game (beyond I would expect some basic groundwork) so all developer efforts went into the game (*cough* Javik), and not chipping chunks off to re-sell separately.
Yea, thought I said that but it looks like I just stated what was and segwayed straight into what should be. They should eventually have the pre-order DLC avaiable for Dishonored much like what happened with Human Revolutions.crazyrabbits said:All the DX:HR pre-order content is available on Steam. There's a window between the game being done and the game being released where the developers have nothing to do.crazyrabbits said:Well, we've known about the "girlfriend class" for months prior to the game's release. (a) they're a developer that seems highly committed to fan satisfaction, with a CEO who always makes himself available to the media and the fanbase (Pitchford)
(b) they explained quite clearly what it was, and why it was being developed.
(c) I trust that their business practices are more ethical than that of EA, who pretends that they don't develop this content and sneak it onto the disc for people to buy later.
