I don't know of any game that has sold ten million pre-order copies. That just seems ridiculous. Maybe like, five thousand or something as they're a small developer but hey, what do I know about marketing?
Game looks pretty interesting though. I wouldn't mind playing a Dead Space/Doom ripoff. And for thirty five bucks? Sure, I bought Final Fantasy XIII. I'm down for this.

Well, according to some random youtube commenter that I didn't fact check because I coulnd't be arsed, so take it for what it's worth: only 4 pc games has ever had more than 10 million pre-orders, and among them was The Sims games and Starcraft.Chickmcjr said:

If the 10.000.000 aim was lowered to a reasonable number, you could have bought an enormous amount of $1 copies to sell on Ebay, for let's say $2 - $5. But anyway, I like projects with a more realistic approach, like the "humble bundle" which made $1.000.000 with their recent offer. It's realistic, you donate and you really are 100% sure you get your game. Considering that the make let's say 10% for themselves, the crew of the "humble bumble bundle bee whatever" makes $100.000 every time they offer a succesful bundle options. Sounds like a very good buisness strategy based on charity and videogames.
the solution is easy, pre-order like ten copies, then sell the keys to friends fo' some sweet sweet profit if it works out (hell, wrangle 5 bucks of them for a copy, and you stand to make an epic profit). if some people were to do this, the devs could possibly reach their mark and everyone gets a cheap game.
if not, you've given a not so significant amount of money to charity, i know i've spent a lot more on things that were a lot less entertaining than this game looks to be.

So basically this is their advertising campaign. It is a nicely thought out one.
Pre-orders even of $1 aren't going to make it to 10 million, but what money is put down gets donated. Not a bad idea, charity gets money either way, indie game devs get a viral campaign, and PC gamers get another interesting Eastern European video game. Sort of a sci-fi Condemned with mutants instead of hobos is the vibe I'm getting.
It is a clever campaign that will surely help raise the game's profile and raise money for charity. I'd like to know what charity it is though. Either way they get a dollar from me.

I think 10 million is a stretch. They expect to make it the best selling game of all time? Even for a dollar a piece that's just too high. Maybe a big AAA game could do it, but not a title like this. At least it's not "If we make $10 million we give it to charity, otherwise we keep it".
