BOOM, SMASH, EXPLODE, SHATTER! Other noises of chaos blare at you as random shit involving nukes, evil Russians, bloodthirsty terrorists, all-good American soldiers, bad-ass British soldiers, doomed player characters, and betrayal are wrapped up into a tasty, yet nonsensical mix and shoved down your throat for the low fee of $80, all while being discussed by the main characters during the loading screens.
Hopefully that wall of text was almost an confusing as MW2's story.

Your character must infiltrate a Russian terrorist cell and win their trust by taking part in a terrorist attack to assassinate the US president by planting a nuke covered in kittens and baby seals at the White House. You will commit this atrocity and allow the president and thousands more to be killed (instead of, you know, stopping it) because it's the only way to learn the terrorists' evil plans (again, instead of surveillance or something).
But then it will be revealed that the whole thing was planned by a Canadian Mounted Police special ops team who wanted America and Russia to destroy each other in nuclear annihilation so that Canada could have a monopoly on the best hockey players in the world. Price and his team assault the Canadian secret ops base and destroy it but when they report to their commander he will say, "Good job, you hoser" revealing his true Maple Leaf colors and shoot you, but then Price will jump up and kill him and you will be fugitives hunted throughout the Great White North.

I would say the good guys win, but knowing Activision we won't see that happen until Modern Warfare 18...-_-
Soap does something with some nukes(Disarms, detonates, hugs, paints pretty flowers on; doesn't matter, as long as it's nukes). Soap's team mates die. Soap gets hurt. Soap kills bad guy. The end.
