What was wrong with the ending of watchmen? It worked in both book and movie

In the book it worked, in the movie the changed idea was just so laughably stupid, and completely unnecessary - would it really have been that hard to make a giant squid blow up? Hell, the Japanese have been doing that for decades.

What, and a giant, teleporting exploding squid wasn't stupid in any way?

For the context? Of course not.

Okay, to demonstrate my point, lets look at two different things that could be happening in the secret nuclear fallout shelter.

"Sir, New York has just been destroyed. There was a flash of light, and now there's a huge crater. Want to wait 20 minutes to see what caused it?"

or

"Sir, something just materialized in New York and killed everyone. Its a....giant squid?"

Thinking that the massive explosion wouldn't just be an instant catalyst for global nuclear war is just retarded. It also ruins the idea that peace came from the scientists and the artists, not the politicians and the generals."

Oh no, i'm not saying the movie one was better, just that the book one was completely ridiculous, regardless of context. It actually put a huge downer on the end the book for me. The way it was being completely serious about teleporting a huge squid into New York and making it explode just seemed a little off to me.

I hope nothing, they actually managed to fuck with a working engine.

Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones both had a working combat system.
Lego Batman fucked with that system by making it impossible to dodge, no ranged weapons and YOU CAN FALL FROM A FUCKING LADDER BECAUSE THEY DECIDED THE JUMP BUTTON WAS TOO DIFFICULT. To put it less stupid: You can climb a ladder, and fall off the side because you've gone too far to the left or right, which is fucking great on the PC with horrible 30 degree camera angles and 45 degree controls.(it was nearly impossible with a controller so I can't be bothered to test it with a keyboard)

If they HAVE to make a new Lego game, I hope it will be something interesting, like Lego Warhammer 40k.
