Predictions for Yahtzee's top/bottom 5

So in the first (or second) week of January Yahtzee's gonna make his usual list of best and worst games of 2012, and I thought of making a prediction of which games are gonna be on both lists based on his reviews of the past year. Mind you, I'm probably going to be completely wrong but I'll make the predictions anyway.

The top 5 games are probably the easiest to predict, as he rarely likes games. The games probably going to the top 5 are Far Cry 3, Spec Ops: The line, X-COM: Enemy Unknown & Day-Z, with number one probably going to Rayman Origins (because it's the type of game he'll probably want more of). Mind you, the number one pick will probably be something else, and other games that might still make it on the list are Walking Dead and Max Payne 3.

The bottom 5 games are harder to predict, cause I cant tell which games he truly loathes. Well, except MoH:Warfighter, CoD:BlOps2, and Amy. The other 2 games are probably Neverdead and Syndicate, but I'm not completely sure.

So what do you think? What are your predictions for Yahtzee's annual list?

Rayman Origins was a 2011 Release.

He seemed to really enjoy The Walking Dead and Sped Ops The Line.


However looking through the rest of the vids and what I remember of them. i really have no idea what he will choose other then Spec Ops and possibly Walking Dead.

He seemed 100% positive in his review for X-Com, so I'd be surprised if that isn't his number 1 pick. That being said, he continuously brought up Spec Ops' story and proper feel for realism when reviewing the blockbuster spunkgargleweewees this year, so maybe this will be at the top because of the impact he thinks it made? After all, if his love for Silent Hill 2 is anything to go by, a good story and atmosphere could be the deal breaker.

As for the rest, Walking Dead, Rayman Origins, Day-Z and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe Mark Of The Ninja? He seemed to quite like that one, even if he only touched on it briefly.

And as for his worst, well.... he didn't really seem to violently hate a lot this year other than Medal Of Honor and Amy (or potentially also Kid Icarus). I don't know, I just felt like he was kind of going through the motions with his COD: BLOPS 2 review, not particularly getting fired up at it.

I'm going with XCOM: Enemy Unknown since it's my GOTY as well as it solidified a lot of points for Yahtzee:
- Enjoying turn-based combat if it has none of the bad anime styles
- Remakes of older games can strive today without being turned into an FPS or any gritty genre

Nah, Yatzee's impression of the Mass Effect series as generally been one giant "Meh, alright, I guess."

I mean it seemed like he really liked the second game more than he did with the first, and don't even remember how he felt about the third game, genuinely.

Considering that he coined spunkgargleweewee during the Warfighter review its a safe bet that Warfighter will prolly be somewhere near the top of the worst list

The only thing sure is that he will ***** about the WiiU a bit more and that at least 1 of the worst 5 will be a Nintendo game (Kid Icarus, maybe even NSMBU?).

I mean i'm on the same page here. For the most part sequels just try to grab our hard earned cash. Mass effect started as an alright game and just gradually became worse. Frankly, I don't even see Yahtzee mentioning the Mass Effect series in his top and worst of 2012.

I wouldn't be surprised if Spec Ops was his game of the year, since it was probably the game he was happiest to see after all of the generic shooters. Also wouldn't be surprised if he just put all of the aforementioned generic shooters as his collective worst game.

Since WaitWHAT kindly linked his thread I'd quote what I said from there.

Spec Ops, X-Com, The Walking Dead, Dishonored and Far Cry 3 as top 5, not necessarily in that order.

Blops 2 and Doorfighter are pretty much guaranteed to be in the bottom 5, probably Resident Evil 6 as well. Maybe one or a couple of the Summer of Arcade games as well, he didn't seem very impressed with them either.
