First I was like "Thanks EA, Wow,I now have this game I really didn't want"
Then I was like "Oh this OP lied."
And then "Oh thanks EA for shafting me because I don't like in the US. Every other person is getting this game I don't want but me"

I don't know what to feel any more.

A very nice deal indeed for those who are interested. However, this is just a kick in the balls for me who has decided to boycott EA(not because of Origin). Damn it, why did ME3 have to look awesome?

EA Origin killed my mother.

I was going to get ME3 off of Origin anyway, but now I have another reason.

I don't have Origin, I don't have any desire to play BF3 and I can just buy Mass Effect 3 at my local game store in town. Plus it's not available in the UK so this fall flat on its face.

Bastards! I wasn't going to install origin but it showed up to my house and held a knife to my pregnant wife's throat until I installed it. Now my computer watches me in the shower.

For those of you still bitching about Origin after I've already tried to explain how it's no different than using Steam please go read this, specifically #5 on the list.

EA isn't the ONLY company out there that can disable your access to stuff you bought.

It's funny how people keep bringing up the myth that they banned somebody from his games for badmouthing them because I'm almost 100% certain it went beyond simple "badmouthing." He was being a fucking dick on their forums and got banned for it. Based on my own experiences with various internet forums you NEVER just go from post to ban without some kind of warning. But this dude kept being a dick. He lost access to his games (Which according to the TOS he agreed to he was renting not owning.) Lesson learned: don't be a fucking dick.

I also consider it a myth because I've seen no evidence of it actually happening. Too many of you guys subscribe to the "everything on the internet is true" mindset. Case in point here. I could start another thread with a bullshit story about someway EA screwed me over and get tons of responses about "how could they do this." Because your confirmation bias wants it to be true instead of critically thinking and trying to find out the facts.

That doesn't sound like a bad deal. Although I'm getting the console version of ME3, so it won't matter to me.

Yep, EA officially thinks ME3 is a shooter franchise.

No way around it now. Fucking idiots ruined Mass Effect.
You use guns in the Mass Effect games. Doesn't that qualify them as shooters? You use GUNS to SHOOT things.

As for the people here who insist on not buying it just because it's on Origin, I'll bet at least half of you will crack when it comes out. It happened to the L4D2 boycotters.

That's what buying used is for (and the reason I still own a console). ME is not a multiplayer series to me so if EA has some DRM on that I won't miss out.
That is true. If you're getting the console version. You can't buy the PC version used can you? (Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm mainly a console gamer)

Plus this is Mass Effect we're talking about. People who played through the first two games on the PC won't be able to transfer their saves to a console version.

So unless the game comes on on Steam or retail, PC gamers will probably have to buy the game through Origin. Should they choose to do so that is. :p

I do not think you can buy used PC games unless you sell Steam accounts (which I'm pretty sure violates the terms of use). That's one of the downsides of PC gaming, but it's also the largest reason I keep my 360 around.

what legal rights are being given up i don't think I'll ever understand that.
Well, Origin is basically data-mining spyware. Some people may be okay with a random company knowing everything about them short of the colour of their underwear, and selling it on for spamming purpose to god-knows-who but most people are not.

Personally I also don't like EA installing malware that steals my bandwith and uses it to aid EA's personal botnet so they basically turn my computer into a server they don't pay me for.
I still have a bandwith limit, and my internet can get cut off for the rest of the month or I can have expenses taken out on me if my bandwith usage is excessively high. That also happens if you get 3 warnings in half a year. And people report EA's Media Booster malware consuming over 3 gigabytes a day. Now the limit is quite a lot, I think 50 GB a month upstream, but having that EA malware installed would already exceed it, and after 3 months, my internet would get blocked if I can't identify that EA's malware is causing the problem.

But, don't listen to me. I'm probably just a conspiracy theorist because I don't like my internet suddenly being cut off because EA wants to steal bandwith and personal data from me.
i haven't seen any evidence of the personal data and bandwidht stuff so maybe i'm just not looking in the right spot. take the ramblings of the internet folk with a grain of salt or the whole jar

Awwww I just saw this. I guess my conspiracy theorist line hurt his feelwings. I am glad to see another person take the ramblings of internet folk with a grain of sand.

If Origin was jacking bandwith and getting somebody's internet shut off SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE would have had it happen to them by now and there would have been a huge shit-show. What a crock of shit. Seriously if you're going to criticize something check your bullshit facts and lies at the fucking door. I'm so sick of seeing this shit.

This is a fantastic deal! You know, except for the Origin thing. Seeing as 1) Origin has it's problems, and 2) Origin is new, so noone can use their old Mass Effect saves for it.

Edit: I was corrected on this point by the charismatic stallion that is major_chaos. I was wrong on the second point - I still don't like the things I've heard about Origin, and don't plan on using that service, but I have no wish to slander them. Many apologies.

I'm not sure what makes you think that I have ME1 on steam and ME2 on Origin because it was free with dragon age 2 and I could import my saves just fine so unless you can link my to an article that proves your statement I call bullshit

OT: this is a nice deal shame I already have BF3, although it is not the first time that "evil" EA has given out freebies.also I'm somewhere between laughing and face palming at the ongoing rampant paranoia about Origin

edited to fix atrocious spelling. that's what I get for typing fast

I appologise, I was wrong. I don't game on my computer, and on previous topics involving Origin and Mass Effect I heard people say that you couldn't import your save files. I took them at their word, and I screwed up. Thank you for your correction, I'm editing my original post now.

What the fuck are you talking about? I seriously don't know. I simply used that guy's exact argument for another situation to show how fucking stupid it was.
I was referring to the TV Tropes link. I know just how much of a Browser Narcotic [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BrowserNarcotic] it is. Yes, I am aware of the hypocricy of including a TV Tropes link after mentioning the addictiveness of the site [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HypocriticalHumour].

Refusing to buy anything through Origin until they fix up their pricing.

ME3 89.99USD for my Region
ME3 89.99NZD for a physical copy

Regional pricing is fucking retarded when a physical copy of the game is cheaper than the digital version.
