Just as much as television or facebook/twitter. I understand his point but the idea of going outside and playing hopscotch just isn't as cool as playing EA's HOP SCOTCH CHAMPION 09.
He's right ya know.

I don't care TOO much about his opinion on the matter, but the second he starts implementing "preventive care" into any sort of actual law then we'll really have something to worry about.

But it's a nice little thing to add to my list as to why I don't like him.

Oh boy, the governments's sticking their nose where it doesn't belong again. Not only that, but telling people what they want to hear.

I play video games about 60 hours a week, and I graduated first in my class of 298 students.

Video games don't make you unhealthy or bad in school... playing video games TOO MUCH does

Same with the whole 'meat is unhealthy for you' BS from those pretentious veggie/vegan idiots. No it's not, OVER EATING on meat is what's unhealthy.

Most of this stuff isn't unhealthy unless you overdo it. Geez.. NO common sense whatsoever
I think thats the problem Obama is trying to face: children playing too much video games. probably the same thing with the whole eating too much McDonalds thing, etc

Did you know that the Communists killed over 21 million people and that makes them bad people?

look I can make a blanket statement too
I was replying to someone -.-
then use the quote button so no one else gets confused, if you hit reply unless someone reads what your typing about its difficult to follow

I do agree that children should spend time outside, but to call videogames unhealthy is uncalled for. It's just another form of recreation, and as long as one moves away from the screen to do something every now and then, they should be fine. Besides, TV is to blame too.

I like it when Obama says something everyone says he's right despite going apeshit on people who said the same things before.
Yeah, if it was bush who said this crap, BAM everyone would be down his throat complaining and bitching. But Hey, its Obama, we should all just agree with him. And who all tries to say I'm racist or I'm stupid, you know that I'm right. Also I am not racist or stupid, I just notice how everyone reacts to both.

Everyone hated bush and didn't support him, yet when Obama does something wrong, or stupid, we have to support him 100% and can't make fun of him, or their racist. To me, Obama is just going to be like Big Brother from 1984, but hey I'm not going into detail about it since this isn't the time or place to talk about it. But like I said, if someone else said this, like bush, then everyone would be saying he stupid, and he shouldn't talk about this stuff.

ah good, we're blaming video games instead of, say, the parents who are neglecting their responsibility to ensure their children are healthy.

my biggest issue with the political left is that their policies are all about control; they have a philosophy that people can't do anything right on their own (contrary to the evidence) and so that the government has to be everyone's parent. As if the government isnt made up of people who are every bit as fallible as the public it is supposed to be monitoring.
As a big believer in personal freedom, this is just one more example of punishing the people who behave correctly (i.e. with personal responsibility).

Sure, videogames can cause it, but its not the majority of the problem.

Hm, maybe it's because theres a fast food joint at nearly every city block.

Though WoW, that game sure as hell does a lot more than regular games.

"While Obama's election was widely applauded by gamers"

Source: GamePolitics [http://blogs.wsj.com/health/2009/06/15/text-of-obamas-speech-before-the-ama/]

BULL FUCKING SHIT! That is the craziest thing i have ever heard! With a few exceptions, every gamer I know is a Obama hater. The guy doesn't know many gamers.

They are unhealthy. Unless you're playing the wii, all you are doing is storing fat cells. You can move away from the screen every now and then, but you wouldn't be playing videogames, would you?

The thing about this is he's talking about kids. that means children probably it doesn't apply to the average gamer most likely either I assume his kids don't play video games so what he sees when he says that is a 10-12 year old boy sitting in front of halo for 8-12 hours which is bad (not just for his health) but for everyone who has to listen to his voice on a head set. He's actually doing us a favor....or he's just really bad at trolling gamers. (after writing this I realized most people could make this evaluation on there own but I;m gonna post anyways cause I took the time to type.) sorry for the grammar if it's bad I don't feel like spell checking I'm really tired :]
