This is the official thread for "Press X not to die".

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/games/stonking_great/game/4-Press+X+not+to+die

Please tell us what you think of the game; use of the words "compelling" and "cinematic" are already assumed in your reviews.

After seeing this I fell in love.

It's obviously a life drama upon which the imp must scour the universe for his love Yahtzee.

Only to find that his loved Yahtzee is forever trapped in a .gif, and the only remaining option if to look indefinetly for a cure, to no avail.

This game has shown us all the pointlessness that some activitys and events are.

Please lets have a round of aplause for... Press X not to die, for showing us the truth that is life.

Thank you sir, you've opened my mind to life.

What a fantastic game! 10 out of 10! 5 stars! Two thumbs up!

I also liked the little Easter egg that pops up when you type in Yahtzee's real name! That was pretty clever :)

So... what can be said about this game? Hrm. Erm. Well.

There were... pixels. Yes. Pixels were definitely involved.

[small]oh god i can still hear the pixels screaming those poor tortured pixels crying for the sweet release of death[/small]

There was... um. Animation! Yes, definitely animation. There was some of that.

[small]following the absolute loosest definition of the term[/small]

And it had Yahtzee in it, too! Yep, our good ol' Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw, Internet celebrity and novelist!

[small]may he strike you down upon his altar of hatred and claim your vile souls for this nightmarish pasquinade[/small]

And, yes. I did indeed press X, and I did indeed not die! So... there's that.

[small]now if you will excuse me i must wash my eyes out with napalm[/small]

Um, I'm so very confused. The game, it does nothing! It felt like an April Fool's joke come very early.

I thought it was incredible, the part with the boss portrayal from Halo 3 was actually what I imagined fighting a wheelchair bound hobbit with a BFG to be like. Though did you really have to add in that Chase mechanic riding those Dinasaurs through bunny infested swamps? All in all, great game, 9/10!

Either you submitted this for shits and giggles or the game is horribly broken, because there seems to be no way to get past the first screen.

Even on the first screen, the awful two-frame animations gave me a headache after a while. And what was with the half-assed photoshop job to make Ben's eyes turn red on the big floating south-park Canadian head?

You didn't even spell-check the text...

No... just no.

I personally found it both cinematic and compelling.

Cinematic, like the majestic Alone in the Dark
Compelling, like Goatse.

Bravo fine sir, bravo.

I got as far as figuring out how to move the imp. This has about the same entertainment value as waggling my mouse across the screen. Less in fact, as at least my mouse has decent controls.

I was under the assumption this'd be one of those cheesy Flash games that kill you straight out unless you start mashing a certain key before you even get past the loading screen.

I mashed the key in question to slow the advancement of the yellow gradient effect from the right side of the window and I did so until I learned the gradient effect stopped by itself. I'm now out a keyboard that can produce the letter mentioned in the game's title and am angry both at the developer and at myself because I am currently on a laptop.
