I'm attractive. And I keep my gaming no secret. No one is surprised, because gaming is becoming ubiquitous, and a certain reasonable level of "nerdy" is a sort of attractive quality now.

I think this will become a non-issue with time.

I'm so prettier than you...

But you aren't half bad, so don't ever let anyone call you ugly.
Ohoho~ my. You make a girl blush.

@ James Joseph Emerald-
To reiterate, this thread discusses events in the years between 2006 and 2010. You know, when I was in school? I'm out of school now, so I have no trouble finding people to game with.

I realized that while I was reading this thread...

I'm a very handsome person! (JUUUUUUUUUUUUUUST Kidding! :D)

Anyone who plays games is a gamer, and everyone looks different

What one considers pretty is subjective, so who cares?

Enjoy the dang vidya games! :D
You're my hero now... And a delicious food item that may or may not impart supernatural powers.

I'm very conflicted right now...

Please excuse the strange contrast and surreal looking background, they are a result of a pretty old cameraphone.

This thread mostly feels like a strange way to show off those same photos for funsies.

In general I've known of attractive and socially active people who still occasionally have weekends in playing games. I don't feel like it really dictates much about you anymore. I do however fairly fit the stereotype of the introverted paranoid shut in.

Pretty/attractive/beautiful/effeminate, all are different things which different people define differently.

No offense TC, but for me you just fit the effeminate category, though to be fair I've never found another dude pretty, so you may very well be that to those who do find dudes pretty. As for believing you play "real games" or stuff besides angry birds or whatever, sure I would, I wouldn't have a reason to doubt you. :p

As for myself, I consider myself "average" and that's it, it is left upon others to decide for themselves how true that is.

If anything, people assume I'm in a band due to my look...which although false I don't mind. :p

I have the same problem in college, the key is just be be noisy. It sounds kinda dickish but don't be shy, if you know people play the same games as you force a conversation.

I can't tell you how many times people said" I never imagined you as a MTG player, a brony, a LOL player, etc... I just thought you where a jock. Just find a geek subject and push it.

Actually none, I typically shave every two days and my hair is tied back 99% of the time. :D

I'm fine as is. XD The hair is kinda troublesome to have loose in most settings, I do it when in a having fun atmosphere or something like that, not daily life activities. It actually feels oddly freeing. I do sometimes skip shaving for a week or so, like in that picture, I actually like how it looks with the hair tied back more.

The stereotype isn't true. There are definitely people that fall under it and there are certainly people who don't. Judging a book by its cover is never a good thing and judging someone by their demographic (not race) is just as bad.

For example, I'm in university right now and one day I was alone in the cafeteria in my res and a girl came up to talk to me. We started talking and when we started talking about hobbies, I mentioned I was really into gaming and she used the, "I'm going to the bathroom but I'm really going somewhere else" excuse. If she'd heard the rest, I would've mentioned I'm a varsity rower, I play 3 instruments and lots of other things. When you judge someone like that it just makes you seem like an ass who can't get past the surface.

I don't think people mean unattractive as in ugly, but as in someone you wouldn't want be with for any reason or several. People without hobbies (aka boring people) like to spread this idea because it makes them feel superior for not having an interest in anything but how they look and who they hang out with.

Oliver how do I say this......trying to think of the PC way to do it....I had to look up your gender. I mean seriously it reminds me of an episode of Naruto during which my friend said "That's a pretty man". Sorry I don't know a more polite way to say it, I mean no offense.

OT: I'm ugly, I know for a fact I am. I'm not fat though so I don't entirely fit the nerd stereotype.
