Hopefully a long time.Ruffythepirate said:This is a dangerous thread. How long will it take before the battle of political views will grab hold of the thread, and finger blood from angry typers in The-Shining-elevator-scene amounts will start flowing?
"None of the above" is an option, it's called voting blank. Putting in a blank vote at least says you support the democratic election, but you couldn't choose/didn't agree with anyone. If You however believe simple general elections every fourth year is an illusion of democracy, or you don't believe they are conducted in a responsible way (or whatever reason) you can boycott the election.iamnotincompliance said:Not voting (still going to complain when the country goes further into Hell in a handbasket), but I think it was quite obvious to everyone but Hillary for the past several months that Obama had won, hands down.
And if anyone wants to tell me I don't get to complain about anything if I don't vote, I say au contraire, not voting is my vote, by which I mean I really don't want anyone who would run for office in office. The day "none of the above" becomes an option on the ballot... hell, I probably wouldn't vote even then, but that is my right to do.
there's one thing i've learned about americans, they never ever vote for the person, they vote for the partyLance Icarus said:OBAMA! OBAMA! OBAMA!
Woo! Here's hoping McCain doesn't win simply on the basis that Hillary supporters refuse to vote or vote McCain solely to spite Obama. If that happens, I'll lose all faith in the Democrats.
That's kinda funny because if Hilary had won the Democratic nomination, I would have voted for McCain (completely against my views, but would be better than her).cleverlymadeup said:there's one thing i've learned about americans, they never ever vote for the person, they vote for the party
Really? I always thought that presidential elections were very personality based. Live and learn.cleverlymadeup said:there's one thing i've learned about americans, they never ever vote for the person, they vote for the partyLance Icarus said:OBAMA! OBAMA! OBAMA!

i was mentioning about bush to an american friend and saying how bad he was and how he outright lied to the country and was totally screwing them over. the response i got was "well i'm a republican i have to vote for them" i was like "NO you don't vote for them, you vote for a democrat"
chris rock had a bit about this a few years ago, it's freaking retarded that people blindly vote for whomever the part is they support and then complain how bad of a job that person is doing once they get voted in
you're probly not a registered democrat then and if you are then you are the exceptionFrosk said:That's kinda funny because if Hilary had won the Democratic nomination, I would have voted for McCain (completely against my views, but would be better than her).cleverlymadeup said:there's one thing i've learned about americans, they never ever vote for the person, they vote for the party
