I guess it's nice, but I'm getting jaded by Obama's high rhetoric:substance ratio. Still, better than Hilary.

Republican. But between the two, I must say at least Obama was more like able (sans psycho-preacher.) And to those who say that Obama is a Musilim or anti Christian because he doesn't put his hand over his heart during the pledge... really don't know their faith.

I'm thrilled, yeah. If he doesn't win, I will riot in the streets. He's not all that great, but he's the best they've got.

Not voting (still going to complain when the country goes further into Hell in a handbasket), but I think it was quite obvious to everyone but Hillary for the past several months that Obama had won, hands down.

And if anyone wants to tell me I don't get to complain about anything if I don't vote, I say au contraire, not voting is my vote, by which I mean I really don't want anyone who would run for office in office. The day "none of the above" becomes an option on the ballot... hell, I probably wouldn't vote even then, but that is my right to do.

OBAMA! OBAMA! OBAMA!

Woo! Here's hoping McCain doesn't win simply on the basis that Hillary supporters refuse to vote or vote McCain solely to spite Obama. If that happens, I'll lose all faith in the Democrats.

This is a dangerous thread. How long will it take before the battle of political views will grab hold of the thread, and finger blood from angry typers in The-Shining-elevator-scene amounts will start flowing?

Hopefully a long time.

I don't follow politics that closely, so while I am happy that Obama won, it's really only because Mrs Clinton said mean things about video games.

Well, I'm happy. Good for him. Hopefully, he reforms the US, getting it's economy out of the slump it's currently in... I'm asking for too much, aren't I?

"None of the above" is an option, it's called voting blank. Putting in a blank vote at least says you support the democratic election, but you couldn't choose/didn't agree with anyone. If You however believe simple general elections every fourth year is an illusion of democracy, or you don't believe they are conducted in a responsible way (or whatever reason) you can boycott the election.

there's one thing i've learned about americans, they never ever vote for the person, they vote for the party

i was mentioning about bush to an american friend and saying how bad he was and how he outright lied to the country and was totally screwing them over. the response i got was "well i'm a republican i have to vote for them" i was like "NO you don't vote for them, you vote for a democrat"

chris rock had a bit about this a few years ago, it's freaking retarded that people blindly vote for whomever the part is they support and then complain how bad of a job that person is doing once they get voted in

That's kinda funny because if Hilary had won the Democratic nomination, I would have voted for McCain (completely against my views, but would be better than her).

so what about a hilary-Obama ticket?

i think it's bad personally. Even though it will "unify" the party, it would also confuse Obama's message of change, and i dunno how hilary would do as second in command.

what do you think?

Really? I always thought that presidential elections were very personality based. Live and learn.

you're probly not a registered democrat then and if you are then you are the exception

i personally think obama is a great choice and should win the presidency, mccain and hilary would be 4 more years of the same crap. obama if he's good will stem off the civil war/revolution that's brewing for a few more years hopefully if not totally avert it

i don't think he will pick hilary as his vp, edwards might make a better one but hilary would be a train wreck for obama. other than that not sure who he should pick as his running mate
