Republican. But between the two, I must say at least Obama was more like able (sans psycho-preacher.) And to those who say that Obama is a Musilim or anti Christian because he doesn't put his hand over his heart during the pledge... really don't know their faith.
Why would it matter if Obama was Muslim or Atheist anyways? I thought America was a country comprised of many faiths and creeds.
Knew I was forgetting something in that post. Had an argument with a coworker a week ago about that very subject.

Cool

I watched the Clinton speech afterwards and had to turn it off after ten minutes.

She kept smugly complimenting herself and repeating the same facts over and over again.

I just couldn't take it anymore.

america is also a melting pot, you become american and not what you used to be

but you are right it shouldn't matter and cause he has a crazy preacher, what should it matter he's not the crazy preacher

like how she won the michigan and florida primaries? kinda hard NOT to win when you're the only candidate on the ballot

i like how she said "oh it doesn't matter blah blah" when it looked like she was winning and more recently she's like "we should count them, i won them and they should be counted"

Well, Clinton lost (whether she will choose to finally accept that, we'll have to wait and see)

So, now we wait for the vp announcement.

Excellent, ideal line up for sanity, Obama vs. McCain, both of them are less freaky and moronic than the people they were competing with.

Yeah

There always seems to be something fake about Clinton, whether it's her smile or hidden in her speeches.

Last I recall, there was something in the legislation that requires all presidents to be "God Fearing Men"... Athiests are out, as would be Bhuddists, Taoists, and most other eastern faiths. Muslims would be VERY hard pressed to prove an "Alah fearing man" is the same as a "God fearing" one. That leaves Mormons, Christians, and Catholics and Jewish.
Good god. I hope Canada's not like that as well.
In Canada overtly pushing a religious agenda seems to be a death sentance for your campaign, we likes out church and state seperate up here.

Well, I for one think that Obama would make a terrible president. As it was once said his speech's go
"blah blah blah blah Change!blah blah blah Hope!blah blah blah Free Healthcare!blah blah blah."

I have listened to some of his speches and heard nothing but "Good stuff is good. I like good things, so vote for me if you like good things"
I have heard that Obama has missed the most votes of any other senator. Now, why not vote? Because if you vote you give yourself a platform. People can be opposed to a platform. Obama is trying to obscure his idea's and get people to vote for him by preaching messages of "Change". I do not know what he is going to change exactly, and some clarification would be nice.

I also get very pissed off at the media's attention to him. Or, actually, there treatment of Ms. Clinton. On one T.V. show that I saw, they had some polls that were about views. Then they has one devoted to Ms. Clinton. It was "Rhymes with Stitch". People would talk about her hair, her suit, her ass and they would get away with it. However, if someone had "Rhymes with Trigger" or talked about Obama's watermellon or fried chicken, they would be torn apart by the media. This is just something that I find grossly hippocritical.

Have a nice day!

I have listened to some American presidential candidates, and I haven't heard any who doesn't talk like that.

I'm glad Obama got in over Hilary, purely because I think a black president would be more culturally significant in the US than a female one. One item of concern from a UK perspective is Obama's assertion that our special relationship (interesting euphemism for *****) needs to be more equal, which reading between the lines suggests to me that he wants us to provide more support.

I'd really rather not have the UK cosy up any closer to that bunch of religious zealots. We may have history with the Europeans but at least they're vaguely sane.

I also like the fact that Obama is a half-white/half-black son of a midwesterner and a 1st generation immigrant raised in Hawaii, one of the most cosmopolitan places in the US. He's like the distillation of the American dream.

I'm also canadian, so it doesn't apply to me. All of our leaders are over educated wafflers whose primary mandate can be distilled down to "DO NOT ROCK THE BOAT"... and we like 'em that way.

ummm the jews don't worship God, they worship Yahweh or Jehovah depending on how you wish to spell it :)

so by your definition then jews can't be in office

Allah is the arabic word for God, much like Yahweh is the hebrew word for God

and to correct it, the only restriction on being the president is you must be born in the states, you can't immigrate and hope to become president, tho they are changing it because it wasn't originally like that and it's unfair
