For me, discretion is my number one standard when joining a site. I always give out (quite) useless information, never specific data about where I live and such.
Therefore, I shrug a little at people who upload tons of data about their lives, birthdate, living place, how much they love their cat and whatnot.

And now I wanna know, what is your opinion about this? Where do you draw the line of privacy?

I don't talk about myself on purpose but I don't lie if someone asks me a question about me.

That's the reasoning I go by as well. I'm fully aware of the fact that I'm a nobody, and if someone wants to g through the trouble to hunting me down for any reason, all they're gonna get for the trouble is my bank card debts.

I usually give out all information possible on a site like this just to be annoying really, I'm not really fussed about how much people know about me (who wants to stalk an 18 year old guy?) Though I'm well aware of how easy it is to find out a lot about a person just from their name and city they live in. Meh I don't care.

Most my friends barely know me, I'm a very private person and when it comes to the internet I try and keep it and my social life completely separate so I never give any specific information about myself unless its relevant.

I never give any information, except maybe my country of origin. Beyond that, my real and online lives are quite separate and I like it that way.

No-one would care enough to fly around the world and track me down. Well, except for those people who could just use my IP. But i don't give more than i deem neccesary anyway.

I don't put my real information in any sign up sheets.
Who the hell are these people to demand my information when they don't need to know it?
Screw that. My info is on a need to know basis and I like it that way.

I don't often talk about myself or my life anyway, it's really not that incredible enough to talk to teh_interwebs with.

I lie when I fill-in sign-up sheets, but if anyone asks for most of the information I just say 'no'. People don't need to know where I live, what I look like, and my name. Most websites I don't even give a gender, I sometimes feel if people know more about you they make more presumptions and aren't as open to your comments and criticisms.

I give out plenty of info. I draw the line at my precise address, but my name, appearance and city of residence I have no issue with.

What's the harm?

I don't give out much of anything, mostly because it annoys me to type so much.
And I'm scared I'll be put on mailing lists and have to spend hours deciding what is and isn't junk.

Sums up my thoughts, minus the debt. I just got no fundage in the first place though.

I'm more open on the internet.
Some people say I'm a totally different person.
I don't know.

I do tend to be more trusting on the web though.

I only draw the line when it comes to my address. I really don't care about much of anything.

I also draw the line at my address.
Although I think I accidentally posted something with my postcode on on it once, needless to say I deleted it quickly.
