I accidently read this as Piracy = Wrong? which was weird. But yeah, it is strange how people act shocked about me not only not having a MySpace, Twitter, or Facebook but me hating them as well. Even the only photo of me on the internet has my face covered, see:

.

That is THE only photo of me on the web, and it still lacks my face. I will not show my face on the web.
Don't see why not.

I mean I had my face on my profile for a little while but took it down because it was a pretty bad picture.

I mean, there is the whole "A voice doesn't need a face" thing but, really, there's not much of a downside to showing your face.
I prefer to keep Real Life and here separate. I don't need Real Life infecting my life here. Plus, nobody can track me down without a photo of me. You have a general location, and a username. No face, no name, no exact location, not even a description of me besides for MAYBE eye color and hair color. No Face, no name, no location. You can't find me, you can't learn much about me. I prefer it that way. Any info like that is stuff I don't normally tell/show anyone.
I'd be flattered if someone tracked me down, to be honest.
I'd be worried. Especially if they came to my place. If they did, I'd invite them in, act nice, get them some food, poison it, and then dispose of the corpse in the way I explained in the "How would you dispose of a body?" thread. Nothing left, no ashes, no bone dust, no nothing.
I'm glad you've got a plan. I'd just threaten them with my swords.

I assume most people are lying about at least some things until I get to know them better.
Wait, so you've assumed I was lying to you? Oh noes! That hurts me, deeply - you can tell because I'm not using any emoticons just like I always don't![footnote]That was definitely a lie - you can tell because I didn't use any emoticons, just like I always don't![/footnote]

I totally was lying though, but only by omission, as I'm either 100% honest or obviously being facetious for comedic purposes - thus all the personal anecdotes and background info I've doled out is completely on the level in the sense that it was true. But say... my real name? I did provide you with that, I just never actually specified it was my first name[footnote]It definitely was - you can tell because I didn't use any emoticons, just like I always don't![/footnote].

So there you have it - I am always truthful (except when I'm not)! You can tell because I don't use any emoticons.

Heh! Well, I believe what you say. I guess I should specify and say, people lie in order to impress.

Now you did tell me you were in show choir, but generally speaking, that doesn't impress many people. I do believe we were having a geek-off at the time. It is possible you embellished, but you speak geek, and it is a language that is hard to master. You are authentic, at least in my humble opinion.

But yes, I tend to disbelieve people when I first meet them if what they say sounds a little too perfect. Like, "I'm this awesome person who everybody loves and I am a total hottie and the topper? I am your sexual fantasy come true!! Yay!"

Telling me you are a twenty something table-top gamer is more believable to me. I actually never doubted you were who you said you were. It's just a gut feeling thing, and I could be totally wrong.

There's really no need to embellish when the aim is appearing geeky - the other day I boiled down my sister's camera lens envy, which she was expressing in technical terms that didn't mean squat to me because I'm not a photography nerd, by suggesting she was essentially lusting after a +2/+2 Greater Lens of Clarity. I didn't even have to ponder that quip first, I apparently think in RPG metaphors instinctively now.

And worry not, your gut feeling is on the mark - I am in fact exactly what I present myself as (and all those table-top anecdotes? I don't even varnish those, that's raw unfiltered truthiness, with only the names of the guilty parties withheld, heh).
