When you see someone with a Probation, suspension or ban on this site, do you click the link to see what they were banned for?

Personally, I pretty much always do. Im a bit nosy

Every time. Half out of curiosity and half to see what they did so I don't repeat it. It's funny what some people do to get in trouble. My favorite is when they get put on probation then edit the probation post to ***** and end up getting suspended.

Lol, sometimes, just to see what the mods consider banning/probation for.

Sometimes I disagree with the decision but sadly, nothing you can do.

I do, because it's often hilarious.
Yeah, I do this a lot. I hate it that yesterday I saw someone banned and there was no link to the post that showed why...

Chances are, if it seems they were put on probation or worse for something that seems minor, that they have had plenty of warnings in the past, and chose to ignore them :/
So stepping it up for repeat offences is pretty much the only way to teach some people, and even then, sometimes they ignore it and do it again >.>

OT: Yeah, pretty much every time. Don't really need to, but it is always useful to check it and and see how others do things/etc.

I will just because it's usually something quite interesting. That's why I do my best not to be interesting. That way nobody notices you.

I'm always a little sad when I see a ban, i think being banned is something very drastic kind of like the death penalty.

Usually a mod will leave a note saying that they probationed/suspended/banned them for repeat offences, or if the reason for the ban was weird or obscure, like when someone requests it.

When they dont leave such a note, and its not obvious, it annoys me

Yeah, some of us do that to be helpful, but not all of the mods have the spare time, especially when things get busy, on here or in real life.
I try to do it as often as possible. Some posts are so obvious that they don't need the notes. Others, it is better to point out the problem.

I usually do. But I also wonder why the heck so many people have them. I just got here and I've already seen like four. This kind of misbehavior isn't frequent on other places I... well, frequent. So either the rule enforcement is a bit more uptight on here, or The Escapist just naturally attracts hooligans.

Pretty much most probations, suspensions and bans. I just want to know how or why that person get into trouble.

Ive always wondered, do you mods ever get berated by people because you banned/suspended someone and they thought it was unfair? Not the people who got suspended, but just random people?
