Eh, they need to really rethink the way the characters work.
Firstly, the Doctor shouldn't be "weird", in that he randomly fails to understand something he'd have to know to function in modern human society. That doesn't make him alien.
Secondly, the companion shouldn't be a generic "feisty" young woman, and she shouldn't spend the story whinging with her BF. Also, no annoying kids that don't act like kids do.
Thirdly, no contrived moral dilemmas that don't go anywhere. No decisions about whether to kill one potentially hostile alien, or destroy all humankind where the correct "answer" is "destroy all humankind" but then a miracle unkills everyone.
Fourth, no throwing weird streams of stuff on the screen at random and forgetting about it 5 minutes later in the hope the audience will like some of it.
Fifth...are you trying to be funny? Yeah, sit down and rethink if it is going to be funny. If it's going to be cringably unfunny, do something else.

Er, no, he started of in 70s (or 80s) Britain, he got his Tardis working again and left...he also went to alien places or the future without it working cause Time Lords or something.albino boo said:Err ok here we go
1, The entire 3rd Dr was in 1970s Britain. Alien locations were rare and time travel non existent. Its not new, its just what Dr Who has always done keep the budget down by setting stories now.
