Hello everyone. I have reached the final straw with this and I'm turning to you all for any help you can give. I recently was able to get a new copy of Persona 3 FES for PS2, (plastic wrap and everything). Now my problem comes in when I try to make a new game. I select "The Journey" then New Game. After it get's done telling me about the new stuff in this version, it goes to a dark blue screen and then nothing. No sound and it stays on that screen. I have tried other games (Persona 4, Kingdom Hearts 2, Mega Man X collection) and they all run great. It's just Persona 3. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

Try using all the disk cleaning methods?
Really that's all I can think of if you've used google. Otherwise... it's pretty cheap on Amazon nowadays. [http://www.amazon.com/Shin-Megami-Tensei-Persona-Playstation-2/dp/B0014CN2H6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1362533033&sr=8-1&keywords=persona+3]

Have you checked the disc yet? If not, hold it under a bright light and check for any scratches, deformities, stains, etc. If there is anything, try your best to clean it.

I haven't ever tried this on a game, but there is a trick that works with movies that won't play. Take an eyeglass cleaner fluid, squirt a little on the disc, then wipe it off with a micro-fiber cloth. It's saved my ass more than a few times with rental movies, and just might work on a game too.
