This week is a horrible week! I have two assignments due on the 14 and 15th respectively as well as a presentation on the 17th. While I am prepared for most of my workload I am in no mood to do this massive lab report for Thursday.

That's right I am procrastinating! It's 1:56pm, all my lectures are done for today and I am going to heat up some chapati bread with Tahini dip and going to watch Community for a while.

So forum, how do you procrastinate? Is it healthy? Do you procrastinate? If you do, what's your favorite procrastination tool? If you don't, then what do you do to avoid procrastination?

I have two more pages of an essay to write for my 8:20am class tomorrow, and instead I'm talking on the escapist ABOUT procrastinating. And this is after I've been WORKING on procrastinating less. Oh, also my body decided that I wasn't going to sleep last night, so I'm running on caffeine and willpower.
No, it's not healthy. No, I don't like that I do it.

I procrastinated ALLLL through my education, doing everything the night before.

It's never a problem until it comes to the job.

Getting out of the habit was very hard after a solid 10 years of it.

Eh, I'll think of something later.

But really, once in grade 4, I got an assignment so damn hard, I couldn't do it, and I had to let my grandparents do it. I delayed as much as I could in handing it in.

I tend to sit at my computer, flicking between about 6 different sites, hoping that in the time it takes for me to do a cycle there will be something new on at least one of them.

I am a terrible, terrible procrastinator.

As in, to revise and add a page to an essay last night, it took me from 10:00 PM to 3 in the fucking morning.

Let's just say that not all of that time was spent working.

I don't procrastinate nearly as much as I used to. Like I had 11-12 chem sheets backlogged to be due for 2 weeks later, and I did them all within a week. It helps that I find chem interesting I suppose, but still.

With projects, on the other hand, I procrastinate like mad. I had a history powerpoint due recently and most of that was done the night before.

What's that, British Lit essay? No, I'm far too busy on the Escapist forums to work on you. You'll just have to wait.

I have a prob/stats project due tomorrow. My mother made me mess around with her computer and untangle at least three dozen wires, so I'm exhausted.
Thankfully I can turn it in late if need be, so I think I'll do it tomorrow.

I have an ACT to study for next week...and I still have avoided doing it. Mostly I just play some video games, watch TV or a movie, or browse the internet. Generally that means coming to this site or watching Husky Starcraft or something.

I always seem to be procrastinating. I need to study for a mid term tomorrow, yet I have barely started. It's somewhat hard to study when all your books are closed.

It's oddly comforting to know that I am not the only one who is putting things off..cheers forum, for making me feel less guilty.

Procrastination=my entire educational experience up to this point.

I'm starting to get out of it, though. The stress from the assignments is taking years off my life..

Well, I have a paper due in about an hour, and instead of finishing it, here I am on the Escapist with all of you.

I procrastinated in college (I got my bachelor's a few years back) a lot when it came to papers, I hate writing papers because I don't like doing it and I don't think there's much, if any, benefits to writing them. I got really good at playing minesweeper, solitaire (I would try to beat my high score), freecell, and hearts. And, the last even paper I had to write, I literally waited until the night before to write the whole thing, I stayed up all night writing it. I don't know what I got on it as it was something to turn in at the end of the semester, but I did get an A in the class.

There's nothing wrong with procrastination unless you wait too long and just no longer have the time to actually do it. My motto is why do today what you can put off to tomorrow. With that motto and with always doing the bare minimum (only do the homework you know will get graded) I finished college with a 3.97 GPA. Also, reading textbooks and studying is for suckers, you really just have to pay attention in class and take good notes (why would you not pay attention as you are already in class?). Then, look over your notes for about 10-15 minutes before the test and ace it.

I don't think of it as procrastinating, I think of it as having a day off. Fuck you, obligations, I've earned this, and I feel better for having rested. So nyeh.
