"Let's just say it's in your best interest we're never introduced."
Louis nodded, reluctantly. "Yes, of course. I hope we never have to meet again as well." With that, he sat down in his chair, motioning for them to leave. Pips, still not sure about this whole affair, simply followed Lucy outside when she asked him to. The members of Louis' crew eyed them when they got out and off the boat, though they were more concerned with making sure their captain was fine. Pips felt a tinge of guilt about how it had ended, both threatening Louis like that, and for leaving the others outside when the trouble had started.
"Do you think anyone is hurt?"
he asked. Everything seemed sort of calm, and it had stopped raining. No one was shooting, at least, though Jack was holding someone on knife-point. Someone he recognized from dealing with them before, both in business context and the more troublesome meaning of the term.
"Well, we're damned, Pips commented, handing back the gun before proceeding.
"That's Dastardly Danny from the Braico family. They're... not that good with nicknames," he added as an afterthought. "Regardless, I just hope no damage has been done to anyone of our own."

"I hope you're seeing the girl ain't alone. Be looking at your friends now; they're needing of a doctor or a gravedigger. So I think you'd better be saying about who you are, and who this fucking Maroon Lady is about."
He didn't reply, only watched as Dana came closer. She looked like someone who could be spoken to, reasoned with a lot easier. Or intimidated. He smiled a wry smile as she got closer.
"Now now, let's be civilised about this; there's no need to resort to such coarse language."
"Tell that to your brute," he commented, looking more pleased about the situation now. The man was clever enough not to struggle against Jack's grip.
"If I may be frank, the words you spoke and their implications contradict. Now, I can understand why certain parties would want to work alone, trade secrets are indeed secrets after all. However, when you refuse to collaborate with potential allies and demand sole access to the leads and expect us to trust you ... well, you can't have all three I'm afraid. Right now it looks like you are just an agent of the Lady's, here to tie up loose ends and bury the trail."
"What difference would it make if I was? From what I've been told, she's gaining influence, a lot of it! And we're on her list, all of it," he snickered, though he didn't continue, not wanting to give her more to go on.
"You have a choice to make right now, sir. You can swallow your family's pride, enjoy the benefits of teamwork, and we all can rest easy knowing a dangerous threat has been put to rest. Or we can interpret your refusal to mean you work for or with the Maroon Lady, and then we can take you away and deal with you appropriately. I trust you'll make the right decision. We both want to keep our relationship as pleasant as possible, correct?"
"The Braico family could crush your pathetic family in no time," Danny boasted. "But fine, let's talk. Let me go, and I won't make members of your family "disappear"," he muttered, likely unaware of that Dana wasn't actually part of the Pasticcino family. As they spoke, Pips and Lucy arrived at the scene.
"If you help us get her to the hospital then we can both talk to her when she's stable. If we all keep fighting while she's bleeding then that doesn't help any of us learn what we want to know."
"Hospital? Fuck no, I'd rather watch her bleed out than let you bastards take her now." Still acting like he was above it all, apparently he saw Alice as his last piece of bargain. "So, calm lady," he said, addressing Dana. "If I said I'd be willing to talk, you're giving me her, right? You have to choose quickly. And don't you dare do anything, I'm a Braico, you should be very worried."
Pips listened to the two, rubbing a mark on his neck as he did, but deciding on putting his attention towards Alice.
"Would you shut up, Danny?" he sighed, then added; "Please? We've got more important things here." Pips really didn't like to see a young woman hurt. He had almost expected it to be Cynthia -thank god it wasn't- though it being her friend was almost as bad. He removed his suit-jacket, and put it over the girl, aiding Cynthia with wrapping it around her. Pips lifted her up -she wasn't that heavy, luckily- before he stood back up.
"I'll take Cynthia's friend to the hospital, if anyone wants to come along, please do. The rest of you... bring this guy back to the club, try to get as much as possible out of him, one way or another. If you need help, ask my sister, she has a couple of tricks up her sleeve for this kind of thing."
Danny just scowled, apparently he hadn't expected the name of his family to matter this little. "Fuck your little group," he finally proceeded to say. Fear could finally be heard in his voice. "You're going down for this. The Maroon Lady will be the least of your troubles if you dare touch me."
Louis nodded, reluctantly. "Yes, of course. I hope we never have to meet again as well." With that, he sat down in his chair, motioning for them to leave. Well, I didn't really plan well enough when it came to the speaking thing, so Danny is from now on normal speech, since Pips always is italics. So yeah, stupid mistake to make, I know.
