*starting rant*
(sorry for bad english)

Ive been thinking about how we all want attension in some way or another.
I dont know about ur county, but inn mine (norway) giving compliments, asking someone out or just saying hello to a stranger without beeing 2 beers away from alcohol poisening is something that aint gona happend.

Well am basicly thinking: how will ppl react to some random attension?

Now i just wana start with saying i have no problem with giving a dude a compliment, BUT i dont think (norway atleast) are ready for that just yeat, me beeing a dude and all. I dont wana get punched in the head or get the "ok hes gay" look.

So the basics are to just stop random girls that i happend to walk past on my way to work etc. and say something like:
"exuse me, i could not happend to notice you and i gota say, ur quite beautiful,
have a nice day."

So far (tryed doing this for about 6 months now) its been a mix of laughter/suprise/happyness.

Am not doing it to meet girls btw, that would kinda defeat the purpose, i dont want them to sit back and think: "oh he just said that to get ny number."

I started this beacuse i wanted to be able to make ppl smile and to se how i could affect others. Now the fun fact is that its allso affected me quite allot. I used to be the quite type and got really tense around girls. But now... i can walk up to any girl i want.
Fun to think about how ive changed to.

I think this will raise the girls self-esteem, what do YOU think?
(am 26 btw)

*end rant*

Um was hard to read, but basically you randomly walk up to girls and tell them they're beautiful to raise their self-esteem? If a random guy came and said that to me I'd think he was being creepy, I'm not very trusting of strangers. And really a guy your age, I think you should find better ways to spend your time.

Maybe it's my paranoia, but a random stranger complimenting me would creep me out more than anything.

I can understand your feelings on the subject, but even as a girl only having one eye you certainly have caught my eye, you beautiful minx. ;)

That is so creepy it was awesome. I understand the principle but I'd be so weirded out if someone did that to me, but then take the compliment anyway because I like compliments.

I'd do it for the entertainment value.

Still, it's nice to recieve compliments and you might actually brighten some days. Not a terrible idea, OP.

I find it quite attractive when a beautiful woman such as yourself can take compliments. :)

I refuse to read something so badly written. Call me when you fix the spelling and grammar, and maybe then I'll be interested in what you have to say. Respect your readers.
The OP is from Norway. I am quite the grammar Nazi normally, but someone writing English as their second language deserves a little patience. How about you gently correct the most glaring of his grammatical faults, and encourage him to continue working on his writing style instead?

Your criticism is both rude and crushing. If you really wished for the OP to correct his writing, I would have assumed you would have been a great deal more encouraging.

OT: That sounds lovely. Unfortunately, like many other people here, I wonder if people in general are just too mistrustful and jaded to accept genuine compliments from anyone, much less a complete stranger.

And I notice you say you are now much more confident about speaking to women. Congratulations! When you do meet the right girl, you won't miss the opportunity :) Good luck.

I hope this was a joke because its hilarious and awesome and I love it but if its not uhm, I'm a guy. Just so we all know what's going on.

I'd agree with this in a lot of ways even being male it would kinda put me into a spot I might feel like sticking around just to make sure the guy had proper intentions. I know there are spots where I go running that there have been a few rapes (every year -_-) and I would feel bad wondering if I could have prevented it by slowing down a bit.

Although if I go running and I see a cute girl on the same track and she pauses where I've stopped to stretch or get a drink I feel like it's just fine to compliment them even if it's just their running shoes.

S.M.I.L.E? Slap My Incredible Lion, Erkel?

OT: That's a nice idea you have there, OP. Even if it does sound a little creepy...

But a little kindness from strangers can go a long way sometimes.

NOW I'm creeped out....and also curious as to how you came to that conclusion with my non-existent picture.

Just make sure that those random girls you're stopping to compliment don't have random boyfriends walking alongside them or you might end up with a random black eye or loose tooth.

I don't see anything wrong with it, but I don't see any use of it either.

Great stuff. I thought about doing something like that as well a few years back (live in Oslo) because most people go out of their way to avoid even eye-contact here. It's weird. Pretty much just in the south-eastern part of Norway though, the other parts seem unaffected by über-shynessinessology (come on grammar nazi, go nuts, this one's on the house ;).

Keep it short and sweet ^_^

Walking by someone and just saying "nice hair!" or something occasionally would be nice. Stopping them in the street is a bit much xD

Random compliments should be more common but there's too much paranoia that people are only being nice to get something in return.

I don't think this should be limited to girls. It can be something simple to, have a nice day, or nice shoes, or nice tie.

I'd do this but I'm so anti social that ignoring people sounds like a good idea.
