Could they perhaps mix it up with Twilight?

She is a vampire slayer, after all.
Megan Fox would actually win my respect if she put a steak (of the sharp, wooden kind, not the meaty, tasty kind) in the heart of Edward Cullen. Then no longer would the world have to suffer his handsome, chiseled, and thoroughly fucking annoying face. :D
I'm not sure it would be worth it. I'd still have to watch her act.

HA! You said "act" but we both know full well that she cant do that. She merely takes up space on the screen, and pouts with her bloody plastic lips, and occasionally gets a gratuitous slo-mo scene to show off her silicon boobs. That is not acting :p

This is almost as bad as changing the entire cast of Futurama.

There's a Buffy the Vampire Slayer remake in the works and is supposed to be scheduled for release in 2012. The man who directed the awful first movie is returning to do this one. Joss Whedon has nothing to do with, and neither do the actors. Anthony Stewart head has come out and said that he will not be watching.

He sais, "I wouldn?t want to see it, no. The Kuzuis [Directors] didn?t do a great job on the movie the first time around. It was Joss? script at the age of 19, but they changed a lot of it. They said, ?Look, we know best and we know how to make this movie,? and it became quite schlocky and high camp. It would be madness to do (the movie) without Whedon. It may be a bit like watching a car wreck."

Of course, to make matters worse, Megan Fox is rumoured to be in the running for the part of Buffy. She just didn't get enough of ruining the hell out of Transformers, now she has to ruin my favorite show from my teen years.

So, fans of Buffy, what do you think of all this? Do you think it'll be good? bad? Will it suck more than a $5 hooker on cheque day in the trailer park?

Non-fans, what do you think. Did Joss Whedon or any of the actors from the show turn you off from the story? Will you be more interested in seeing it now?
I'm sorry, but this isn't proof that the world is ending in 2012. No offense, but this is simply proof that you are an idiot. (again no offense)

Does hollywood count as an ethnic group now?

My question aside, it occurs to me that I actually don't care about Buffy, except for the tiny overflow resulting from Firefly.

Yes, 'act' was a rather generous description of her on-screen activities.

I must be in a good mood today.

So, they basically decided that they were going to remake a shitty movie, re-do all the things that made it shitty in the first place, and then get rid of anything that could make it unshitty, replacing it with new things that will probably make it shittier?

I knew this post would make me lose some faith in humanity when I saw the subject, I just thought it would be for the wrong reason.

It happens, regrettably.

Mate, uh, you evidently missed the memo. Original Futurama cast was confirmed to have been held on to after all.

I remember when the Buffy movie came out. I enjoyed it as a nothing popcorn flick. I didn't care much for the series, at first. But years later, I watched a few eps, and was like, "yaknow, this is pretty good!"

The show, as I understand it, started to run long, out of ideas, and branched off in to many ways. (does Buffy even slay vampires at all in the final seasons?) Its ending was more of a mercy killing. The reimagination of the first movie... I see it as harkening back to Buffys' glory days. The director can draw from Joss's successes, in his vision.

It might not be to bad. I withhold my judgment until watching the movie.

I would not regard Buffy as a classic of any sort, just some mediocre show that made a mediocre movie *which I only discovered reading this post*.

So I pose a question and statement: "who cares?" and "Get over it."

and we have a winner! Does anyone know how we can get miracleofsound a job in Hollywood? I want to see the cast of Buffy and Twilight kill each other off.

Except it didn't make a mediocre movie, the movie came 5 years prior to the series.

Who cares? The legion of Buffy fans I imagine. Not to mention, anyone who's ever seen the original Buffy movie would probably agree such an abomination should never be created again.

I'm not really a fan of Buffy myself and I haven't seen an episode in years, but it certainly wasn't bad. As someone who's seen people's favourite cartoons and shows slaughtered in movie remakes, I can certainly appreciate why the buffy fans are upset.
