Well, the idea that they would do something that screams Time Machine at the top of it's lungs is not only right, but OBVIOUS, the problem is . . . if someone say . . . 200 years ago, builds a huge shiny machine and tells his friends it'll travel through time. Then he goes and vanishes off the face of the earth with the machine. No one says "HOLY SHIT HE WENT THROUGH TIME!" they say "ah, well he was a nutter after all"TeragRunner said:http://www.darkestofdaystv.com/ That got me thinking. If there truly a such thing that as time travel wouldn't we have seen people form the future by now? If time is simultaneous then the creation of the time machine would have happened at the same time as the creation of the universe, meaning, in theory, that people would have gone back in time and done something that would shout "TIME MACHINES!" at the top of it lungs.
Though you could say that time is not simultaneous and so we would have to pass into the time when we do have time machines in order to go back and change but then (taping into that 10 minutes of philosophy a substitute teacher after school) you could also say that we could have passed that time only not noticed it because...and that's when I left.
Back on topic though, what's your opinion on this subject?
Now, let's think about someone from the future going into the past. The most pivotal points, say . . . WWII in that bunker most Americans would LOVE to have seen into. The man that had that time machine, would have shown up, hit the trigger, and vanished back, none of us the wiser. Let's not do something so obvious though. Let's go back to the past in the public eye . . . telling EVERYONE that time travel is not only possible, but that you're from the future. What happens when you go back to the future? everyone moves on, ignoring that it happened since it makes no sense to them. It's not something we're used to being real.
Just think of someone came to you and said "hey guess what . . . I'm from the future" would you trust it? what's to keep a gov't from hiding something like that? imagine how DANGEROUS that kind of power is . . . we don't honestly know what the rammification would be of time travel.
If I was to go back into the past, and kill Adolph Hitler as a child, there's no TELLING what might happen . . . if I was to go back in time and tell Da Vinci would it would take for his "improbable" machines to work in reality rather then just on paper . . . no one can know what might happen.
Also, what proof do we have that if it IS possible, that it hasn't happened before? or isn't happening all the time?
