Well, there is a certain case where this actually happened that I think is pretty badass...
But for something that hasn't happened? Uh. Maybe Ramza from Final Fantasy Tactics or something in a new FFT game.

Gordon Freeman. Man never gives up, and he wouldn't give you a five minute unskippable monologue before the battle begins.

Link! Think about it, he starts firing elemental arrows, then you get in close enough to knock the bow off his skinny ass, and he smacks you with a hammer before hookshotting away. You'd have to fight against an enemy with a pile of dynamic weapons and destroy/disarm him until he's down to nothing but a sword.

I've always thought that if they did a sequel to The World Ends With You, then Neku should be a secret bonus boss somewhere in there. Y'know, after he somehow became the Composer of Shibuya sometime between the two games. This would only work, however, if the sequel takes place in a different city with a new Protagonist, but I'm cool with that because if they DID make a sequel to TWEWY, it SHOULD be in a new city with a new protagonist.

Oh, and he should be equipped with the Black Planet pins and be teamed up with Shiki AND Beat. Screw Joshua.

Though Cho'Gath would be more standard boss material. Doing well against him? NOM NOM NOM! suddenly he's fucking massive just won't die. Have fun!
This, 10x this. I could totally see him as the final boss for some action RPG. In the intro cutscene for his fight, you slash/shoot/magic him, and then he EATS ONE OF YOUR PARTY MEMBERS. Cue moral choice of either fighting him alone to save the others, or not and risk them also being eaten if you don't protect them when he uses nom nom nom attack (which would also incidently make him stronger). You'd need to dodge spikes from everywhere, and he could periodically scream so hard your screen shakes or blurs or something.

Having played Prototype 2, I can assure you that Mercer did not make for much of a boss fight.

Moving on...

Chell from Portal. So long as everything was coated in moon dust, that could be one crazy showdown.
Can I just stop you here? I'm sick and tired of people saying a surface has to be coated in moon dust for it to be portalable. Lots of surfaces are good for it. Hell, before the moon dust chambers, you portal off plain old plaster walls in the bowels of Aperture labs, and when you get out of the main lab in the first Portal, you do it off plain walls. All the moon dust does is make non-usable surfaces usable.

Sorry, it's just a pet peeve I have.

I always thought it would be cool if a developer made an RPG and then made a sequel to it in which the final boss was the protagonist from the first game (you play as someone else in the second game) and it imported the save from the first game so he would have all the equipment that he had in the first game.

Caim (protagonist Drakengard 1) was a ***** in Drakengard 2 to kill.

Use the quote button to see what I did.

Slightly more on topic because Caim technically was a boss fight and that shouldn't count, I'd go with Sam.

Tell me that wouldn't be daunting to fight, I dare you.

Thank you for pointing that out. It saved me a very rage filled post.

Ash is anime only. You may as well just say 'the player character'.

I was going to say DMC4 Dante because he was a boss fight and infamous because the AI made excellent useage of the Royalguard style, perfectly Royal-Blocking any attack you threw out then snapping off 3/4 of your health bar with a Royal Release. Oh, thats on normal difficulty too, on anything higher than Son of Sparda he literally became unwinnable.

However thats discarded as he is a boss fight.

So, Sam's worst enemy should be someone who simply refuses to die...

I doubt Sam can cram enough bullets, rockets, grenades and electricity in those back pockets to put this guy down, for long.

I'll go for the protagonist from Neverwinter Nights 2 with Mask of the Betrayer's evil ending.
One of the most badass evil endings ever made. It's certainly not of the "kick the puppy" variety but more like "devour all souls and take names".
Wish I was cool enough to get this ending, but no - it's good and boring for me.

A lot of bosses are gods or god-like beings, but this guy EATS gods for breakfast and takes on most of the Forgotten Realms pantheon by himself.

ARE YOU SERIOUS!? Who could ever beat him!?

Alright, how about Conker? You'd never know what he's about to pull out those Context-Sensitive pads!

I also really wish Sonic Team had tried a LOT harder with those "Character vs. Character" battles in various Sonic games. When you fight another playable character, it's just a joke.

I take it you don't know what Payne Killer mode is.
Oh yeah, I know what Payne Killer mode is but I was referring to the actual Max Payne storyline throughout the three games.
