Protective shells for 3DS XL?

So. In my attempt to build up my 3DS collection, I've realized that I want some extra protection for the console. Plus, I'm a bit OCD when it comes to grime/smudges. And it doesn't hurt being able to change the color, too! Oh, how sexy an all black or white 3DS XL would be....

Anyway.

Are there any recommendations as far as a protective shell for the 3DS XL? I'd like to be able to use/charge the console while its shell is on.

Aluminum shells the way to go? Or a silicone one? I'm not concerned about dropping it; just don't want scuffs, smudges or fingerprints on the actual console.

I figure I'll have to order one online as I haven't seen anything even remotely similar to what I'm looking for in brick and mortar stores.

I can't guarantee it'll prevent scuffs, since there's a plastic case that clamps around the DS. That said, I've had my DSi XL (with Nerf armor) with me for over a year, including time in Afghanistan, and it still works flawlessly. Also, the Nerf armor gives the DS some nice bulk to hold while I play it. Cushion for the pushin' of buttons, or something like that.

That Nerf case looks pretty beastly, to be sure.

Anyone had any experiences with this one?

I'd really had my heart set on an all-white 3DS and this is sadly the only shell/body cover I've found that fits the bill.
