focus on the family is one that really irks me. Though it did give me a good laugh when my mom got a letter from them detailing why sin city was such a bad movie and she asked me why anyone would watch something like that to which I replied that's why it was awesome. Also the NRA though I agree with several points that they have and have no intention of giving up my second amendment rights they have a strong tendency to be alarmists over nothing.

If Focus On The Family is what I think it is, then you are absolutely right, it's a bunch of fuckery.
Westboro Baptist Church is one of the leading causes of psychotic, blood-fueled rage in normally calm, detached people (like myself, specifically. Now excuse me while I go make moltovs.)
PETA...dunno what to say about them. Honestly, every cause has people who hate it just because of the people who support it.
Shit, some people still say things like, "Well [such and such] is bad because Hitler supported it."
For instance, most of the time if I see someone advertising a cause, it just causes me to dislike the cause because they're often acting like holier-than-thou cockbags.

Yes. If you've examined some of my earlier posts, the ones talking about America I do express a want to move away from America. I just never really explained why. As long as I didn't lose any limbs I'd just rather let them rot in their own holes.

Exactly. Sometimes they try to appeal to your guilt, though. They play that sad, sad music, and show pictures of abused animals and such. It doesn't make me want to get out and protest as much as it makes me want to curl up, cut my wrists, and cry.

That doesn't appeal to my guilt, it appeals to my compassion, if you aren't responsible why feel guilty? Also those are either humane society ads or ASPCA ads, both organizations are millions of miles better than PeTA. PeTA can fuck itself in the bum for all I care. I want to care for those dogs, they deserve better (cats can screw off though). But I already have dogs, and I can only care for so many so...

Okay my fellow Escapists, I have a research paper to do in Advanced Composition class, and I'm doing it on the various groups who protest and wind up pissing people off than actually helping a cause. I got the two obvious ones, PeTA and Westboro Baptist Church, but I need a few more ideas and i was just hoping that some of you guys would know. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The pro-lifers who bomb abortion clinics.

(Yeah, it sucks, especially when I'm pro-life. They're making me look bad man!)

I think we should clearly define protest in this situation. I think that bombing a facility, even if its purpose is institutionalized murder, would fall under terrorism.

Otherwise, I would say those anarchists at the RNC. (They make anarchists look bad, which to some extent transfers to minarchists).

Also, those "Thank God For Dead Soldiers" people really piss people off.
